On March 20, at the headquarters of the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor held a conference on trade union training for officials at all levels. Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, directly delivered the presentation.
Innovation in thinking, improving leadership capacity
The conference is one of the key activities in the 2025 work program of the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor, aiming to improve the quality of the trade union staff, especially key newly elected and untrained officials. The training topics focus on developing leadership capacity, skills in managing grassroots trade unions, organizing trade union activities and resolving difficult situations arising in the process of performing tasks.
With the theme "Thinking, vision and skills of trade union cadres in the new context" and "New points of the Trade Union Law and the Social Insurance Law", the conference attracted the participation of 96 trade union cadres from all levels under the province. The training content is elaborately developed, closely following reality and meeting the requirements of improving the capacity of the staff in the new situation.
Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan - President of the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor said: "Organizing the training is an opportunity for union officials to learn from experience, share difficulties encountered during work, thereby improving their skills in handling situations and promoting their role in the workers' movement".
Meeting the requirements of the integration period
Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that innovating the thinking, vision and skills of trade union officials is an urgent requirement in the context of globalization and digitalization. According to him, strategic thinking and a broad vision help union officials orient correctly, seize opportunities and proactively respond to risks and challenges in the process of performing their tasks.
The 2024 Social Insurance Law expands the subjects participating in compulsory social insurance, including business owners and employees who do not have full-time salary in the month equal to or higher than the lowest salary used as the basis for compulsory social insurance contributions.
New regulations on social pension benefits and health insurance for employees who are not eligible for pensions are supplemented, ensuring sustainable social security. The law also strengthens strict handling measures for acts of evasion and late payment of social insurance to protect the rights of employees...
