At the Tran Hung Dao National Special Relic Site (Cao Bang), many meaningful activities took place, both to pay tribute to families of policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions, and to contribute to improving the quality of life and community development.

Before the main activities took place, the delegation led by Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - offered incense in memory of General Vo Nguyen Giap, expressing deep gratitude for the General's great contributions to the country.

After offering incense, the delegates presented 80 gifts to representatives of families with meritorious services to the revolution. At the same time, local people were also examined for health, consulted and given free medicine, demonstrating practical concern for the lives of people in remote areas.

Next, the Cao Bang Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the National Defense Trade Union; the People's Public Security Trade Union; and the Vietnam Coal and Minerals Trade Union to organize a workshop with the theme "Improving the quality of grassroots trade union cadres to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation".

The workshop was attended and co-chaired by Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Ms. Ly Thi Hue - President of the Cao Bang Provincial Confederation of Labor, and leaders of the units.

At the event, delegates highly appreciated the role of grassroots union officials in protecting workers' rights and building strong union organizations.

Colonel Nguyen Van De - Deputy Head of the National Defense Trade Union - affirmed that improving the quality of trade union cadres is a key task, with specific solutions such as building a team of cadres with political courage, good moral qualities, high expertise and solid knowledge of the law.

The workshop also pointed out some limitations such as union officials lacking initiative in learning, slow to innovate working methods and lack of enthusiasm in their work. To overcome these shortcomings, delegates proposed focusing on policies on remuneration and rewards, while at the same time regularly strengthening and improving the quality of human resources.

Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Huynh Thanh Xuan highly appreciated the significance of the workshop and emphasized that this is an important opportunity to find effective solutions to help grassroots unions successfully complete their tasks in the new situation.

On the afternoon of December 7, the delegation attended the inauguration ceremony of the projects: "Lighting up the countryside roads", public housing and dining room for teachers and students in Mai Long commune, Nguyen Binh district.

These educational institutions previously faced many difficulties in terms of public housing, toilets and kitchens for students. Teachers had to live in temporary, degraded houses that did not ensure living and teaching conditions.

Faced with this situation, the Cao Bang Provincial Federation of Labor has mobilized and connected organizations and units to support project implementation, including:

The public housing and dining room projects were built at 4 school locations with a total area of nearly 500m2. The project “Lighting up the Country Roads” with 340 solar-powered lamp posts was installed in residential areas, schools and cultural houses.

The project has a total budget of nearly 4 billion VND, of which the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group sponsored 3 billion VND to build public housing; the People's Public Security Trade Union supported 350 million VND to build kitchens for students and the National Defense Trade Union supported more than 565 million VND for the project "Lighting up the countryside roads".

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee cut the ribbon and handed over the projects. At the same time, 100 gifts (VND 1 million/gift) were given to disadvantaged students in Mai Long commune. The Golden Heart Charitable Social Fund also supported VND 360 million (money and goods) to help workers overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
