According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, the semiconductor industry is a very "thirsty" for human resources in Vietnam with a demand of up to 10,000 engineers/year. However, the new supply only meets less than 20%. The starting salary for new graduates of this industry is from 15-22 million VND/month.
The information technology and artificial intelligence (AI) industry also has a large demand for personnel, with more than 90% of students getting jobs after 1 year of graduation. The starting salary for new graduate programmers is from 12-20 million VND/month. The position of AI engineer or data engineer alone can be up to more than 40 million VND/month.
Representatives of the Hanoi Employment Service Center said that qualifications are still important, but in the context of a volatile labor market, "life" ability - being able to work immediately and soft skills are the factors that determine the job position of workers.
At the Hanoi Employment Service Center, to continue supporting labor market connection, in 2026, in addition to job transaction sessions held periodically every day, the Center will organize mobile sessions in communes and wards and online sessions connecting many provinces and cities.
According to the plan, in 2026, Hanoi City will create new jobs for about 171,000 workers, reduce the urban unemployment rate to below 3%; the rate of trained workers reaches 75.8%, of which workers with degrees and certificates reach 55.5%; the average labor productivity growth rate reaches 7 - 7.5%/year.
