On the afternoon of April 25, at Con Cha fishing port, Phan Thiet ward (Lam Dong province), a labor accident occurred due to gas poisoning while working under a fishing boat's hold.
According to initial information, the incident occurred on fishing vessel number BTh 958xx TS. At this time, a group of hired porters climbed down to the fish hold to work. However, immediately after that, people in the hold showed signs of gas poisoning.

Discovering the incident, people on board immediately shouted for help and brought the victims ashore. Among these, 2 brothers N.T. V (born 1992) and N.T. Q (born 1993, both residing in Phan Thiet ward) fell into critical condition.
The victims received initial first aid, then ambulances took them to Binh Thuan General Hospital for emergency treatment.

According to some fishermen, the fish hold on the ship is usually a closed compartment, easily falling into a state of oxygen deficiency. In addition, seafood incubated for a long time can generate toxic gases, potentially causing suffocation for people going to work.
From sea experience, before going down to the hold to load goods, fishermen often open the hold lid, spread ice and wait for a while for the gas in the hold to escape, limiting risks.
