Nghe An – Organizing a meeting for workers returning home during the Lunar New Year to connect and attract workers to the locality.

On January 28, information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that it had just issued an official dispatch assigning the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to organize meetings for workers returning to their hometowns during the Lunar New Year 2025.

According to the content of the document, currently, the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone, Industrial Parks and some localities are being invested and put into operation by many large-scale domestic and FDI enterprises, needing to recruit many workers, especially highly skilled workers.

However, the province's labor force has not met the requirements in both quantity and quality. The local labor shortage affects the production and business of enterprises, affecting the province's investment attraction.

To overcome the above situation, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to monitor and grasp the labor situation in industrial parks and economic zones, especially in localities with a large concentration of laborers; ensure convenience for workers to take Tet holiday and return to work after Tet, receive full payment of salary, bonus (if any) and arrange Tet holiday according to regulations.

Special attention is paid to supporting workers who have suffered a sharp reduction in income, lost or are unemployed due to the impact of natural disasters, epidemics, and businesses that have reduced production and business.

In addition, strengthen inspection and implementation of measures to ensure safety, labor hygiene, and fire prevention at production and business establishments.

At the same time, proactively develop solutions to prevent and handle labor disputes that may occur during the Lunar New Year. Implement solutions to maintain the human resource supply chain, promptly meeting labor needs for businesses before and after Tet.

Along with that, organize conferences to propagate and connect labor supply and demand at district level; direct People's Committees of communes, wards and towns to organize meetings with children from their hometowns who work far away and return home during the Lunar New Year, grasp the employment situation of workers, and communicate and mobilize workers to work in enterprises in the province.

Nghe An Provincial People's Committee assigned districts, cities and towns to review and summarize the number of local workers of working age returning to their hometowns during the Lunar New Year 2025 with the need to find jobs and receive vocational training, and send them to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to have a plan for vocational training and connect labor supply for businesses.

According to Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long, the organization of meetings between districts, cities and towns for workers returning to their hometowns during Tet aims to connect labor supply and demand, solve employment problems, attract workers for domestic enterprises and FDI enterprises in the province in the period of 2025-2030, and at the same time contribute to ensuring social security during the Lunar New Year.
