On the morning of July 18, the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation organized the Forum "Listening to union members and workers speak" in Truong Vinh ward.
Attending the forum were Mr. Kha Van Tam - Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation; representatives of agencies, units, businesses, grassroots trade unions and a large number of union members and workers in the area.
At the forum, questions from union members and workers focused on 6 groups of issues, including: employment, wages and income; working conditions and environment; implementation of regimes and policies; labor relations and grassroots democracy; housing, union member welfare; mechanisms and policies for businesses, non-business units and grassroots trade union officials.

In which, salaries and income are the issues that receive the most attention. Workers reflect that the current income level has not kept up with the growth rate of living expenses, while rent, electricity, water, tuition and essential expenses are increasing.
At Nghe An Dermatology Hospital, officials and employees reflected that they are being delayed in paying an amount equivalent to 22 months' salary. Employees requested clarification of the time of payment, and at the same time asked questions about ensuring salaries, jobs and related rights in the process of arranging and merging units.

Workers at Vinh Market Management Board stated the reality that they often have to work at night, on holidays and on weekends. There are cases where the overtime is over 200 hours a year, but payment is still limited according to current regulations.
From this reality, workers raise the issue of whether to study the overtime mechanism suitable to the specific nature of the unit; at the same time, there needs to be a plan to arrange human resources, compensatory leave time and pay for overtime to ensure legitimate rights.

At the Nghe An Forensic Center, union members proposed to consider adjusting professional allowances, hazardous allowances and duty regimes to suit the environment and nature of work. Workers wish to be answered about the basis for determining beneficiaries, benefit levels and the roadmap for adjusting special regimes.
Workers at Nghe An Water Supply Joint Stock Company, EM-Tech Nghe An Branch, North Central Forest Planning Inspection Sub-Institute and some units also reflected having to rent rooms at high costs while income is still limited.

The opinions of workers are received and answered by representatives of the Provincial Labor Federation, departments, branches, and related enterprises to clarify; at the same time, the Provincial Labor Federation will summarize and propose to relevant levels and sectors.
On this occasion, the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation presented 10 gifts to union members in difficult circumstances. The Trade Union of Truong Vinh ward launched the "Digital Trade Union Mailbox" to receive opinions and recommendations from union members and workers.
