Many grassroots trade unions in Dak Lak have not organized periodic health check-ups for workers

Dak Lak - The whole province still has many grassroots trade unions that have not organized periodic health check-ups for workers.

On September 14, the Dak Lak Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) said that it had just made a proposal on the implementation of labor law, the Law on Social Insurance and the Trade Union Law at enterprises in the province in 2026.

In July 2026, the Provincial Labor Federation organized supervision at 6 enterprises. Through supervision, all 6/6 enterprises organized propaganda and dissemination of policies and laws related to workers.

Units basically implement the signing of labor contracts, paying social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance; coordinate with grassroots trade unions to build democracy regulations, organize employee conferences, periodic dialogues, negotiate and sign collective labor agreements.

Work on occupational safety and health training, labor classification, periodic health check-ups and implementation of regimes and policies for workers are also being concerned.

However, the Provincial Labor Federation pointed out some shortcomings. The operation of the safety and hygiene network at some enterprises is still formalistic and not highly effective. Some units have not paid attention to examination and detection of occupational diseases; have not implemented in-kind training, have not arranged for people to do occupational safety and hygiene work, and have not monitored the working environment. Health work at enterprises has also not fully met the requirements.

Notably, a survey up to August 3, 2026 shows that the whole province has only 170 grassroots trade unions coordinating to organize periodic health check-ups for 23,687 workers.

Meanwhile, 408 grassroots trade unions with 44,948 workers have not been organized for periodic health check-ups, accounting for 70.59% of grassroots trade unions and 65.49% of surveyed workers respectively.

Faced with the above situation, the Provincial Labor Federation requests supervised enterprises to urgently overcome existing shortcomings and limitations.

At the same time, the Provincial Labor Federation proposed that the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee direct departments, branches, localities and businesses to strictly implement periodic health checks, professional disease detection checks; strengthen inspection and handling of violating businesses. Functional agencies continue to inspect the compliance with labor laws, social insurance and trade unions, and at the same time resolutely handle and recover social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance and trade union funds debts.

The Provincial Labor Federation also requested the Department of Home Affairs and Provincial Social Insurance to promote propaganda and legal training; and at the same time proposed that the Department of Health propose to the Ministry of Health to study and amend regulations on conditions for arranging people to work in healthcare at enterprises.
