This is the information shared by Mr. Pham Ngoc Toan - Director of the Center for Information, Strategy Forecast and Analysis and Public Services, Institute of State Organization and Labor Science with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter.
The Institute of State Organization and Labor Science (Ministry of Home Affairs) has just published the Labor Market News for the first quarter of 2025.
Accordingly, workers who seek jobs most focus on occupations such as: Business administration; customer information staff; sales staff, shopping and brokerage; other sales staff; sales staff, marketing and advertising.
Meanwhile, the 5 industry groups with the largest recruitment demand are: Retail and retail; Real estate business activities; Manufacturing of rubber and plastic products; Education and training; Computer programming, information technology services.
The 5 groups of jobs with the most recruitment needs are sales staff; customer service staff; sales and management staff; workers in the field of engineering; logistics/transportation.

Notably, in the first quarter of 2025, workers looking for jobs aged 30-39 accounted for 42.9%, workers looking for jobs aged 20-29 accounted for 37.1%.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Toan - Director of the Center for Strategic Forecast and Public Service Analysis, Institute of State Organization and Labor Science - said that online job search groups or recruitment websites are mostly proficient in technology, often with college and university degrees or higher.
The group of 30-39 years old who are looking for jobs often do not mean they are unemployed, but partly due to job conversion, as shown by the unemployment rate in the first quarter decreasing compared to the previous quarter.
This also shows that the labor market is difficult. A group of people from 30-39 years old is a group that is easy to fall into middle-aged jobs when technology gradually replaces traditional jobs, the entry of young workers. The possibility of being replaced depends largely on whether workers are adapted to new work requirements.
"For the same job position, looking back at previous years compared to the present, there will be very different requirements. Not to mention the world economic situation will also have a certain impact on the domestic labor market in the coming time" - Mr. Pham Ngoc Toan shared.
Also according to the above newsletter, in the first quarter of 2025, up to 52.9% of recruitment positions required university degrees or higher, while only 50.8% of job seekers met this requirement; 40.4% of recruitment positions required college and intermediate degrees, but only 29.3% of candidates in this group went to find a job.
Only 6.7% of recruited positions require elementary qualifications, or do not have technical expertise, but up to 19.9% of job seekers do not have a degree/certificate.
In the first quarter of 2025, businesses mainly need to recruit workers in employee positions, accounting for 67% of recruitment demand; 17.5% need to recruit mid-level managers; 7.5% of high-level managers. The number of temporary jobs needed for recruitment is only 8%, while there are up to 31.8% of people looking for jobs in this position.
Also in the direction of job seekers, 45% of workers are looking for jobs in employee positions; 14.5% of people are looking for mid-level management positions; 8.5% are looking for jobs in high-level management positions.
