3 near, 5 right, 4 no
Speaking about the activities of the grassroots trade union cadres, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, central mass organizations, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor emphasized the serious and effective implementation of "3 closeness": Close to workers, close to grassroots levels, close to digital space; "5 must": must listen, must dialogue, must set an example, must be responsible, must report results; "4 no": not formal, not evasive, not pushing, not doing wrong functions. Thoroughly grasp and well implement the motto: Meeting less, act more; fewer slogans, more results, fewer procedures, more satisfaction of workers.
Reality shows that in the team of grassroots trade union officials, many people have become companions, trusted friends, and protectors of workers at the unit. One of them is Mr. Ngo Ngoc Vinh - Chairman of the Trade Union of Stanley Vietnam Electricity Co., Ltd.
For Mr. Vinh, the saying "my workers", "my workers" is spoken naturally, as if talking about relatives, about responsibility and personal feelings towards all workers of the Company. As Chairman of the Company's Trade Union with 2,500 employees, each of his actions stems from the legitimate and lawful rights of workers and ensures harmony in labor relations. One of the things that Mr. Vinh has done and brought many benefits to workers is advising on building a Cultural Workers' Activity Point. To date, very few businesses have achieved a Cultural Workers' Activity Point with diverse facilities and operations like Stanley Vietnam Electricity Co., Ltd.
Established in 2011, to date, the company's worker cultural activity point has been invested with an outdoor sports complex including 2 football fields, 1 tennis court complex, 3 pickleball courts, a fishing pond, orchid garden. The indoor sports complex includes 1 computer, a screen reading room, a gym with many modern exercise machines, a yoga room, a golf gym and a library room... These facilities well meet the needs of workers during breaks, improve spiritual life as well as receive legal knowledge and new knowledge through propaganda and dissemination sessions taking place here...
Union members and employees of the company also enjoy many other benefits organized by the Trade Union. Typically, 4 Trade Union canteen areas serve workers with diverse items, ensuring quality and hygiene, sold at a 50% subsidy price for workers. The Trade Union supermarket has been built and put into operation with more than 2,000 items taken directly from manufacturers and sold directly to officials and employees at a price 5% to 25% cheaper. Thereby reducing living costs for officials and employees of the Company. One of the people who advised on building this model is Trade Union Chairman Ngo Ngoc Vinh.
Not only is he a Trade Union official wholeheartedly for workers, Mr. Ngo Ngoc Vinh also set a bright example in the emulation movement. With initiatives and creations that bring benefits to businesses, Mr. Vinh has achieved many titles such as Company-level Creative Initiative, Typical Trade Union Chairman of the Capital, Outstanding Citizen of the Capital, Typical National Trade Union Chairman 2024, Creative Initiative of Gia Lam district (old), Certificate of Merit for Capital Initiative. The dedication of a Trade Union official like Mr. Vinh has been rewarded with trust and respect, always taken as a bright example of each worker, and at the same time affirmed by Mr. Maruyama Tsuyoshi - General Director of the Company - "the Company's leadership 100% trusts the Trade Union organization and the Company's Trade Union Chairman - the creator of many activities beneficial to workers and businesses".
Strength nurtured from the belief of workers
Building a "comprehensive but strong" Trade Union organization is not measured by the number of meetings or the number of movements, but measured by increased benefits, reduced worries and greater trust among millions of union members and workers, which are being strongly implemented. One of the important stages is still the quality of officials, especially grassroots trade union officials. To meet new requirements, each grassroots trade union official must not only have enthusiasm but also have analytical thinking, negotiation skills, and the ability to use technology. Trade union officials must truly be professional representatives, solving problems for union members, not just stopping at mobilizing movements.
Over the past year, many grassroots Trade Union officials have become bright examples because they have clearly shown the qualities of Trade Union officials, meeting the wishes of union members and workers with their own care, responsibility, love, sharing and even setting a bright example.
One of them is Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung - Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. In 2025, Ms. Dung was one of the 10 honored faces to be awarded the "Dynamic, Creative, and Responsible Female Union Member" Award by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour for the first time. Ms. Dung is Deputy Head of Assembly Department, operating the assembly workshop with more than 1,000 employees and has been a member of the Company's Trade Union Executive Committee for over 10 years. Ms. Dung is always close to and listens to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members and employees. The wishes of union members and employees are the basis for Ms. Dung to advise the Executive Committee on organizing activities. Since then, Trade Union corners and gift-giving sessions for employees and children of employees have been established.
Ms. Dung is not only a manager with bravery and professionalism in the industrial production environment, but she is also a trade union official who always takes the lead, contributing to creating vitality for emulation movements to improve and innovate production, becoming a role model for many union members and workers to follow.
Her initiatives and improvements contribute to tens of billions of VND in profits for businesses. For example, her initiative to improve labor productivity helps the Company save more than 1.3 million USD (equivalent to 30.9 billion VND). Another initiative of hers on improving smart delivery methods brings an efficiency of 2.6 billion VND per year; or like the solution to improve the training area, contributing to improving workers' skills, while saving training costs of about 1.1 billion VND per year...
Success in the professional field and being loved and trusted by workers has created a portrait of female Trade Union officials full of enthusiasm, always thinking for workers with the recommendation that the Party, State, and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor continue to pay more attention to the material and spiritual life, working conditions of workers in industrial parks and export processing zones.
Like Mr. Ngo Ngoc Vinh or Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, Mr. Ngo Truong Huy - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Thu Duc - Long An Centrifugal Concrete Joint Stock Company (Tay Ninh Provincial Labor Federation) is a typical example in the patriotic emulation movement and is a person dedicated to workers and the Trade Union organization. Mr. Huy is one of the delegates of the Vietnam Trade Union attending the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress. For Mr. Huy, there are 2 important factors to do well in Trade Union work. That is passion and closeness, understanding workers to build trust. Trade unions must promote the role of a bridge between workers and leaders, while protecting legitimate and lawful rights and interests as well as proposing policies that benefit workers. This thought is the basis for Mr. Huy to always think that his activities are mainly to create a good working environment, thereby attracting workers, protecting workers as well as helping businesses develop, not thinking about achieving any achievements. Union members and workers at the company always remember that in 2012, the collective housing area was officially put into operation with 38 rooms, each room 14m2. Officials, employees, and workers only pay for living expenses such as electricity, water...
The company does not collect rent and prioritizes subjects such as workers far away, couples working at the Company. This housing area for officials and employees was advised and presented by Mr. Huy and approved by the company's leaders. Mr. Huy also sought solutions to improve the quality of life for workers, for example, the model of hammock houses to help workers have a place to rest after working hours. When put into use, the hammock house is arranged behind the company's parking area with 2 rows of 160 hammocks and equipped with additional fans, water heaters, refrigerators...
