Proposal to give rice and instant noodles monthly to union members
In Binh Duong, the Trade Union of Mekong Furniture Company Limited (Phu Tan Ward, Thu Dau Mot City) is one of the first units to organize the Trade Union Meal program for 930 union members, each meal worth 110,000 VND with many delicious dishes. The success of the program is thanks to the proposal of Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam - Vice President of the Trade Union of Mekong Furniture Company Limited.
The Women's Propaganda Department of the Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor said that Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam also advised the Board of Directors and the Executive Board of the union to build a collective labor agreement with many benefits for female union members: Female workers are entitled to 30 minutes of rest a day when they are tired during the month. If they do not rest, they will be paid overtime according to the law. Each month, 2 hours of overtime will be calculated per female worker; in addition to the social insurance allowance for maternity, female workers are also supported with 1 million VND each time they give birth. On women's holidays, the union and the company always pay attention to taking care of female workers.
Sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam added that she and the Trade Union proposed to build many activities. “Buy health insurance (special package) for long-term employees; buy 24/24 accident insurance for all union members when signing labor contracts with the company. In particular, maintain monthly support for instant noodles and rice for all employees, bringing great joy to the families of the workers. Workers seem to not have to worry about buying rice and instant noodles every month, helping workers save an additional expense” - Ms. Tam shared.
Bringing spiritual joy to female workers
In Thuan An city, Ms. Pham Thi Duyen - Vice President of the Trade Union of Far Eastern Apparel Vietnam Co., Ltd. (VSIP Industrial Park) is one of the enthusiastic union officials with many initiatives to benefit female union members.

“I and the Executive Committee of the Trade Union have recommended that the company organize many playground activities for female workers. For example, the program “Friends with Children” provides knowledge for union members to take better care of their children. To bring joy after production hours, as Vice President of the Trade Union, I have advised organizing activities such as cultural, artistic, culinary, and flower arranging competitions... Through that, female workers bring joy and fire to light up their family happiness. I also recommended giving gifts and supporting female workers in difficult circumstances,” Ms. Duyen shared.

I also advise the medical department to increase testing packages for women in the annual health check-up program such as osteoporosis testing, mammography testing to screen for breast cancer. Negotiating with the company's leadership to increase the quality of shift meals for employees is considered one of the best quality shift meals in enterprises in Binh Duong province" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Tu said.
