Overcoming adversity with a helping hand
Ms. Duong Thi Kieu Hoa, a worker at TunTex Soc Trang Company Limited, still cannot forget the accident that occurred earlier this year. On the way home from work, she had a traffic accident that caused her left collarbone to break and injured many areas of her body. It seemed like she had to put her work on hold and worry about treatment costs, but the timely support from the company and the Trade Union helped her overcome the difficult period.
"The company supports all hospital fees, the Union supports an additional 500,000 VND. When I returned to work, I was assigned a job that suited my health. In early May, I was visited and given gifts by provincial leaders and the Trade Union organization. I am very touched and motivated to continue working better," Ms. Hoa shared.
At the same company, Ms. Tran My Hanh, a worker with heart disease, was flexibly arranged by the company to work appropriately right from the first days of taking the job. Currently, she takes on the role of checking accessories and goods on the route, ensuring that she meets the requirements of her job and protects her health. On average, Ms. Hanh has a stable income of about 6 - 7 million VND per month.

At HS Vietnam Chemical Company Limited, Soc Trang branch, the spirit of mutual love between union members is also promoted. Last March, worker Tran Van Thanh unfortunately had a work accident in difficult family circumstances. Immediately, the Executive Board of the Trade Union launched a campaign within the company. In a short time, more than 12.6 million VND was raised to support Mr. Thanh's treatment, helping his family overcome the crisis.
According to the Soc Trang Labor Federation, in the month of workers in 2025, a series of meaningful activities were organized, bringing deeply cohesion and sharing between trade unions, authorities and workers. The delegations including the provincial leaders, the Labor Confederation and the Trade Union of the provincial industrial zones have come to work of workers to give gifts, visit and encourage cases of occupational accidents and occupational diseases.
Each gift worth 1 million VND in cash and necessities not only helps to reduce some of the immediate difficulties but also shows long-term companionship with union members and workers.
Workers are valuable assets
Not stopping at situation support, many businesses in Soc Trang also consider caring for workers' lives as an important part of their sustainable development strategy.
At JiaZhi Company Limited, Soc Trang branch with more than 3,000 workers, caring for workers is considered a core value. Mr. Bui Dong Thien - Director of the company shared: "We always identify human resources as invaluable assets. Therefore, the Board of Directors and the Trade Union closely coordinate to create more jobs, increase income, improve safe and hygienic working conditions, protect the health and lives of workers".
According to Mr. Thien, 100% of employees at JiaZhi have signed official labor contracts, with an average income of 6.5 million VND/person/month, and are fully covered by all types of insurance. The company also organizes periodic health check-ups, prepares records to monitor the health status of workers, and promptly visits workers in difficulty during holidays and Tet.
