Maintain a firm stance on protecting workers' rights
Many employees of Nidec Instruments Vietnam Co., Ltd. still remember that in mid-2024, when Decree 74/2024/ND-CP on increasing regional minimum wages in 2024 took effect, the company only wanted to increase the salary by 280,000 VND/person/month for all nearly 3,600 employees of the company.
After consulting with employees, seeing that the above increase was unreasonable, Ms. Nhu held a meeting with the Executive Board of the Trade Union and agreed to propose that the company increase the salary for employees by a minimum of 300,000 VND/person/month and increase by rank, each rank and each rank is 5%.
Ms. Nhu recalled: “It was not easy for the company's board of directors to agree with the union's proposal, but it took more than a month, after many negotiation sessions, for the company to accept the above increase. During the negotiations, I had to convince the company's board of directors to be reasonable and emotional, so that the board of directors could see that the increase of 280,000 VND was not suitable for the actual increase in the cost of living as well as the salary increase of some neighboring enterprises. At the same time, I had to firmly maintain my position with the employees, convincing them that the salary increase proposed by the union was appropriate and met the wishes of the employees.”
Another highlight is that Ms. Nhu is always close to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of employees, find out what they need, and from there make reasonable proposals to the company's board of directors.
On the occasion of the recent Lunar New Year, nearly 3,600 workers at Nidec Instruments Vietnam Company attended a cozy and elaborate year-end party.
The program was prepared by Ms. Nhu and the Executive Board of the Trade Union many months in advance. Each Tet gift from the union to union members and employees was also selected by Ms. Nhu to best suit the needs of the employees.
Unity, understanding, sharing, developing together
Sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Ms. Nhu said that she started working as a worker at Nidec Instruments Vietnam Co., Ltd. since December 2006, and is currently working in the direct production department.
Step by step, she was admitted to the Party (July 2010) and elected as Secretary of the Company's Party Cell (4 terms), Deputy Secretary of the Company's Party Cell (2 terms) and Chairman of the Trade Union. The Company's Party Cell currently has 19 Party members, most of whom are skilled, prestigious and enthusiastic workers in movement activities.
Growing up as a direct worker, she understands the wishes and aspirations of workers very well, and through union activities she protects the rights and cares for union members and workers.
Over the years, Ms. Nhu and the Executive Committee of the Trade Union have regularly urged enterprises to complete the payment of 2% of the trade union fund on time, successfully organized negotiations on increasing the regional minimum wage with the desired results of the majority of employees, promptly resolved problems between employees and employers, improved working conditions, material and cultural life for employees. Thereby, helping employees feel secure in their work, and enterprises stabilize production.
In 2024 alone, Ms. Nhu, together with the Executive Committee of the Trade Union, organized many new movements such as organizing a charity market to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025) instead of a union meal, and successfully organized a Fashion show with the theme "Environmental protection" attracting a large number of union members and workers to participate.
