Over 12 million workers are taken care of by the Union during Tet

On February 5, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor informed that activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025 will continue to be organized at 4 union levels, focusing on the grassroots level.

More than 8,078 billion VND to take care of Tet for union members and workers

Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh said that priority care is given to workers in especially difficult circumstances, those who have suffered work-related accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, natural disasters, storms and floods; workers who lack jobs or have lost their jobs...

The program "Tet Sum vay - Xuan ung Dang" was held in a joyful and exciting atmosphere to welcome the Communist Party of Vietnam. Depending on the situation at the grassroots level, the program "Tet Sum vay - Xuan ung Dang" is associated with the program "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" to serve the needs of both celebrating Spring, welcoming Tet, and shopping for Tet of union members and workers.

Cultural and artistic activities, visits, organizing folk games, cooking competitions, flower arrangements, Tet decorations, free health consultations, legal consultations, giving gifts, giving train and bus tickets, giving "Union Shelter" houses... to union members and workers also took place enthusiastically.

"The Tet care activities of the Trade Union organization create a spread, attract, connect the participation and active support of all levels of government, businesses and the whole society" - Mr. Phan Van Anh commented.

According to reports from localities and units, during the 2025 Lunar New Year, over 12 million union members and workers benefited from care activities of the Trade Union organization, with a total budget of over VND 8,078 billion.

Of which, the trade union financial source is 4,034 billion VND; calling for social support to support the funding source to care for union members and workers is 4,044 billion VND (accounting for more than 50% of the total care amount). At the level of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 282 billion VND is spent; at the provincial, city, industry and equivalent levels, 376 billion VND is spent; at the direct superior level, 1,051 billion VND is spent; at the grassroots level, 2,321 billion VND is spent.

20,511 Program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring of gratitude to the Party"

The leader of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that before the Lunar New Year 2025, the activity of visiting and giving gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances continues to receive attention from leaders of the Party, State, ministries, branches, National Assembly Committees, and localities.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has coordinated to serve over 200 delegations of Party and State leaders, departments, ministries, branches, National Assembly Committees, and National Assembly Delegations in 63/63 provinces and cities for over 28,000 union members and workers with a budget of over 37 billion VND. Through these activities, leaders of the Party, State, departments, ministries, branches, National Assembly Committees, and National Assembly Delegations have shared, acknowledged, and highly appreciated the work of the Trade Union organization in caring for union members and workers.

Trade Unions at all levels have organized 20,511 programs "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang", attracting over 5 million union members and employees to participate, more than 2.5 million union members and employees were given gifts at the program. In particular, some provincial Labor Federations have organized the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" in combination with organizing "Tet Union Market", discount booths, 0 VND booths and cultural, artistic, sports activities, lucky draws...

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organized the program "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" online via the website: chotet.congdoan.vn and the application "Trade Union Tet Market". At the program, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presented 205,000 shopping vouchers to Union members and employees with a value of 500,000 VND/voucher. The total support value was 102.5 billion VND; more than 3,000 quality products with discounts of 10 - 70% were sold at the program, at the same time, businesses reduced all transportation costs for Union members and employees with a value of over 15 billion VND.

The program "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" directly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in Hai Phong city from January 11 to 17, 2025, with a scale of over 200 booths with nearly 200 participating enterprises and units, attracted over 40,000 union members and workers to participate.

Trade unions at all levels have actively implemented support for buying train, bus and plane tickets for employees and workers who are still in difficulty to return home for Tet. Accordingly, trade unions at all levels have organized bus, train and flight trips to bring over 280,295 employees and their relatives home for Tet, with a total amount of over 222 billion VND.

At the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor level, the "Trade Union Flight - Spring 2025" was organized with 2 flights, bringing 450 union members and workers in the southern provinces and cities back to their hometowns in the southern provinces and cities to celebrate Tet; and the "Trade Union Train - Spring 2025" was organized.

Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh assessed that the activities to take care of the Lunar New Year 2025 were effectively implemented by trade unions at all levels, ensuring compliance with the direction of the Secretariat in Directive No. 40-CT/TW dated December 11, 2024 on organizing the Lunar New Year 2025 and the motto "All union members and workers have Tet", ensuring practicality, effectiveness and increasing innovation.
