On the afternoon of October 25, the Phuoc Long District Labor Federation, Bac Lieu Province officially established a grassroots lottery ticket selling union in Phuoc Long Town, Phuoc Long District, Bac Lieu Province. This is the first union of street lottery ticket sellers in Bac Lieu to be established. Chairman of the Phuoc Long District Labor Federation Son Minh Trieu said that this is a grassroots union with a very special nature. All the members, now union members, were street lottery ticket sellers. At first, the Labor Federation was very hesitant to launch the union because this model was too new, so it was difficult to mobilize.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tuyen, a lottery ticket vendor in Phuoc Long town, said she was very happy and surprised that the lottery ticket vendor profession has been noticed by the Trade Union. According to Ms. Tuyen, there are still many lottery ticket vendors in Phuoc Long town and surrounding areas, and she will encourage everyone to join the Trade Union.
General Director of Bac Lieu Lottery Company Nguyen Van Trieu said that for a long time, when street lottery ticket sellers have encountered difficulties, people often blame the Lottery Company. This group is not the company's employees or workers. If street lottery ticket sellers join the Union, it would be great. "We thank the Union for caring about this group. We are willing to share the difficulties with the union when it was first established," said Mr. Trieu.
On Saturday, October 26, Phuoc Long District Labor Federation held a ceremony to announce the Decision to establish the Trade Union of Bac Kim Import-Export Production Trading Company Limited under the District Labor Federation.
At the ceremony, the representative of the District Labor Federation announced the Decision of the District Labor Federation Executive Committee recognizing 86 union members as workers of the company; the Decision of the District Labor Federation Standing Committee on the establishment and recognition of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Bac Kim Import-Export Production Trading Company Limited.
Trade unions are not out of the picture.
The establishment of the Trade Union of Bac Kim Import Export Production Trading Company Limited not only contributes to building and developing, maintaining the prestige and brand of the company, but also creates conditions to care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees; build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in the company. At the same time, encourage and motivate all levels of the Trade Union in the district to continue to do a good job of propaganda, mobilizing and developing union members, and establishing Trade Unions in non-state enterprises.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh, Chairman of the Bac Lieu Provincial Federation of Labor, commented: Bac Lieu is a province with few active enterprises, so developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in the private enterprise sector has faced many difficulties over the years. In 2024, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor will focus on developing unions in the non-state sector and other sectors.
Currently, trade unions at all levels have targeted the subjects and have initially recruited union members and established trade union organizations in industries such as: Grab drivers in Bac Lieu city; cargo handlers in Ganh Hao, Dong Hai; construction workers in Hong Dan district; lottery ticket vendors' union in Phuoc Long district...
