To date, the whole province has nearly 72,000 workers and laborers in units with trade unions managed by the Provincial Labor Federation, mainly concentrated in Dung Quat Economic Zone and industrial parks in the province (over 63.2 thousand people).
Recently, the Dung Quat Economic Zone Trade Union and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks held a ceremony to admit 30 union members and establish a grassroots trade union (CDCS) of Xuan Son Processing Factory - Branch of Xuan Son Food Import-Export Company Limited. This is a turning point for the company's union members to have their rights protected and enjoy better welfare regimes.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Giau - Chairwoman of the Xuan Son Processing Factory Trade Union - confided: "My collective of union members of the company are very excited to join the Trade Union. The grassroots trade union will develop working regulations, plans, and work programs; organize propaganda activities well, deploy emulation movements; coordinate with business owners to organize activities to care for and support workers in difficult circumstances, creating a safe and friendly working environment in the enterprise."
On June 23, speaking with reporters, Mr. Pham Thai Duong - Chairman of the Dung Quat Economic Zone and Industrial Zones Trade Union of Quang Ngai province - said that from the beginning of 2025 to now, the Dung Quat Economic Zone and Industrial Zones Trade Union of Quang Ngai province has admitted about 3,000 union members.
Currently, many businesses choosing Quang Ngai for investment and business have positively impacted the socio-economic development of the province, attracting a large number of workers to work. This is an opportunity, but also a challenge, requiring trade unions at all levels in the province in general, the Dung Quat Economic Zone Trade Union and the province's industrial parks in particular, along with union members and workers to continue to strive and unite to perform well the assigned tasks, contributing to building an increasingly strong Trade Union organization.
In 2024, the Quang Ngai Provincial Federation of Labor was one of 31 units awarded certificates of merit by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and topped provinces and cities for union member development targets. Promoting the achieved results, in 2025, the Provincial Federation of Labor set out 10 key tasks, focusing on representing, protecting the rights of workers and promoting the development of union members, establishing grassroots unions in non-state enterprises.
