On November 28, the 5th Congress of the Vietnam Post Corporation Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term was held with the motto: "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development".
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Post Corporation, said that the Congress took place in the context that the Corporation is entering a period of strong restructuring, innovating the organizational model and operating methods to create a foundation for sustainable development for the coming period.
Looking back at the period of 2023-2025, along with the outstanding achievements of the Corporation, implementing the direction of the Corporation's Party Committee, the Corporation's Trade Union has successfully fulfilled its role as a support for employees and a trusted partner of expertise. The Trade Union has closely followed the political tasks, accompanied the Corporation in all major changes and implemented many programs that have brought specific and measurable results.
During this period, the Union admitted 3,239 new union members, ensuring that 100% of contract-signing workers become union members. Over 95% of grassroots trade unions annually complete their tasks well, contributing to creating stability in the entire network. Caring activities are effectively implemented: 3 "Union Shelters" for workers in difficult circumstances; 177 rewards for children of workers overcoming difficulties; 24 savings books to support union members in special circumstances; more than 717 million VND for direct welfare programs for workers during the term. In particular, in social security work, the Trade Union has jointly donated a total of 1.1 billion VND to people affected by natural disasters; maintained and cared for 16 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; and visited over 2,000 families of industry martyrs.
Not only caring, the Trade Union is also the core force in spreading the culture and spirit of the Post Office, with a series of emulation movements to create order.
"All of those efforts have contributed to maintaining the trust, spirit and stability of the team during the period of strongest transformation of the Corporation" - Mr. Giang said.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Duc Long - Deputy Minister of Science and Technology said that the achievements presented at today's Congress are vivid evidence of the spirit of solidarity, the will to overcome difficulties and the persistent creativity of the staff and union members of the entire Corporation.
The 2025-2030 period will be an important pivotal period for VNPost. Digital transformation, restructuring business models, increasingly fierce competitive pressure - all require each worker to change more strongly, faster and more proactively.
In that context, Mr. Long suggested that the Corporation's Trade Union focus on implementing three key strategic tasks: Practical care for workers, especially the frontline force; Considering digital transformation - application of science, technology - innovation as an emulation movement throughout the term; especially training and retraining digital skills for workers must be a core task throughout the term.
"I deeply believe that the Trade Union of the V Corporation will continue to be a reliable support for employees, a professional companion, and a force that strongly promotes the sustainable development of Vietnam Post Corporation" - Mr. Nguyen Duc Long said.
With a high sense of democracy and responsibility, the Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of the Corporation, term V, 2025-2030, consisting of 19 comrades with sufficient qualities, capacity and enthusiasm to lead the successful implementation of the Congress Resolution; elected a delegation to attend the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union, including 34 Official Delegates and 2 alternate Delegates.
