Billion-VND initiative benefits businesses
At Ha Phong Export Garment Joint Stock Company, behind the smoothly operating lines is the mark of Mr. Tong Van Tuyen, a mechanic who is always concerned about finding ways to help workers reduce hardship.
Regularly repairing and maintaining equipment at workshops, Mr. Tuyen clearly understands the "bottlenecks" in production. From there, he finds solutions to reduce heavy work. One of his first initiatives was a product label folding machine, which was put into use in 2022.
Previously, the label folding stage was completely done by hand, each line had to arrange 4-6 workers. At times when orders were urgent, workers often had to work overtime for many hours, but productivity was still not high.
After many experiments, Mr. Tuyen successfully created a label folding machine. When put into use, this stage only requires 1-2 workers, the folds are evener and more accurate, helping businesses make a profit of about 140 million VND after only 4 months of application at Enterprise 1. His initiatives also help the production line operate more smoothly, bringing a profit value of about 216 million VND per year.
Spreading the spirit of innovation
That spirit of innovation continues to be shown in the automatic door system for the finished goods delivery area.
Previously, each time goods were exported, a worker had to be arranged to stand to close and open the door and warn the lifting vehicle about safety. When the volume of goods exported is large, the coordination between stages is often not synchronized, affecting progress. Mr. Tuyen has researched and installed an automatic sensor system. Perhaps the initiative that made him dedicate the most effort is the UV light mold treatment machine.
In 2023, customers required that 100% of garment products before export must be treated with UV rays in a minimum of 10 seconds. However, machine types on the market only meet a maximum of 8 seconds, not meeting standards.
Behind each initiative are many experiments, revisions and even nights of thinking to find solutions to the production problem. For Mr. Tuyen, the greatest joy is not only in the economic value but also in the fact that workers are less tired in each shift. These contributions have helped him be awarded the Nguyen Duc Canh Award for the 4th time in 2023 - a noble award for direct union members with outstanding achievements in creative labor.
In 2025, he continued to be one of the individuals honored at the 11th Congress of Patriotic Emulation among workers, civil servants, and laborers...
