Exciting Union Competition on Environmental Protection

Kien Giang - The contest aims to promote the role of the Trade Union in environmental protection, contributing to raising awareness of environmental protection.

On the evening of November 10, in Dinh Hoa commune, Go Quao district (Kien Giang), the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor organized the contest "Trade Union with environmental protection work" in Kien Giang province in 2024. In addition to the competing teams, many people in the area also came to cheer.

8 teams from grassroots trade unions under the Go Quao District Labor Federation, including: Toan Loc Construction Investment Joint Stock Company - Go Quao Branch; Dinh Hoa, Dinh An and Thoi Quan communes; 4 schools: Dinh Hoa Secondary School, Dinh Hoa 1 Primary School, Dinh Hoa 2 Primary School and Dinh Hoa 3 Primary School.

According to Mr. Pham Van Dang - Permanent Vice President of Kien Giang Provincial Labor Federation - the Labor Union always promotes activities to contribute to raising awareness and compliance with environmental protection laws in agencies, units, enterprises, cadres, union members, workers, civil servants and employees. In 2024, the Provincial Labor Federation will implement 4 key activities to contribute to environmental protection.

This contest aims to promote the Party's policies, the State's and the province's laws and policies on environmental protection. Thereby, helping people and the community better understand the importance of environmental protection, the negative impacts of environmental pollution on life and will have specific, practical actions to protect and create a friendly environment.

The teams competed in 3 rounds of multiple choice tests on environmental law knowledge; word-catching contests to learn about activities and recommendations that contribute to environmental protection; and environmental fashion contests with the desire to send to all levels of Trade Unions, cadres, union members, workers and people to pay attention to waste reduction and waste recycling...

The contest aims to promote the role of the Trade Union in environmental protection, contributing to raising awareness of cadres, union members, workers, employers and people about environmental protection, serving safe, effective and sustainable socio-economic development. This is a meaningful playground for cadres, union members, civil servants, public employees, workers and grassroots Trade Unions to demonstrate creativity and determination in participating in environmental protection.

The final result was that Dinh Hoa Secondary School team won first prize.
