On July 2nd, at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor announced the decision to reappoint Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao as Rector of Ton Duc Thang University for the term 2026-2031.
Attending were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao was born in 1981, from Quang Ngai, is a Associate Professor of Automation. He completed his university, master's and doctoral programs in the Czech Republic, and received a doctorate in Control Engineering in 2009.
After returning to Vietnam, he worked at Ton Duc Thang University from 2009 and held many positions such as lecturer, management staff, Vice Rector, Acting Rector. He has held the position of Rector of Ton Duc Thang University from 2022 to present.
According to Ton Duc Thang University, the reappointment decision shows confidence in the TDTU leadership team, while ensuring inheritance and stability in the process of implementing the school's development strategy in the direction of research university.
In recent years, TDTU has promoted governance innovation, improved the quality of training, scientific research and international cooperation. The school has set a development goal according to the research university model, focusing on building a modern academic environment, promoting innovation and developing high-quality human resources.
In the 2026-2031 term, Ton Duc Thang University said it will continue to improve the university governance model, improve the quality of training and research, develop an innovative ecosystem, promote digital transformation and expand international cooperation, thereby enhancing the school's position in the region and in international university rankings.
