Information from Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance said that in 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council passed 4 resolutions to support people participating in social insurance and health insurance in the city.
The resolutions of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council issued have shown consistency in social security policies and focus on health care for the people of the City after the merger of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces into Ho Chi Minh City. However, there is still a part of the population in truly difficult circumstances who do not meet the conditions to participate in health insurance or do not belong to the group of subjects who are 100% supported by the state budget for health insurance contributions.
From that reality, in 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance sector mobilized nearly 10 billion VND from sponsorship sources and awarded 11,514 health insurance cards (a rate of 35.98% of the number of health insurance cards awarded nationwide) to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
Thereby, it has contributed to spreading the humanistic value of the health insurance card and received the consensus of many businesses and communities.
