Trade unions at all levels in Quang Ngai province are making efforts to mobilize resources to take care of Tet for workers, with the motto: "All union members and workers have Tet".

Organize effectively, without showing off

According to Mr. Tran Dai Thang - Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial Federation of Labor, the unit has implemented a plan to organize the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" and "Tet Trung Doan 2025". These are key activities to take care of Tet for union members and workers, especially those in difficult circumstances, those who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, or have suffered damage due to natural disasters, storms and floods... to help them overcome difficulties and enjoy Tet.

The program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring of gratitude to the Party" in 2025 will take place on January 16, 2025. At the event, there will be gifts from the Central, the Standing Provincial Party Committee and 1,200 gifts from the Provincial Labor Federation given to union members and workers.

In addition, in the program, the Provincial Trade Union also presented 35 “Trade Union Shelters” to union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances. The organizing committee also plans to set up 20 booths, including booths selling essential goods at “0 VND” prices and booths selling welfare goods at preferential prices for union members and workers.

Mr. Tran Dai Thang emphasized: “The program “Tet Sum Vay - Xuan An Dang” will be organized in a practical, effective and safe manner, without showing off. For the “Tet Trade Union Market”, products and services must be diverse, of guaranteed quality with preferential prices to attract union members and workers to participate”.

Towards disadvantaged workers

Sharing with reporters, Mr. Pham Thai Duong - Chairman of the Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Province Industrial Zones Trade Union - said that the Zone's Trade Union has developed a plan to organize the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" and "Tet Union Market 2025" at the Dung Quat Economic Zone Trade Union. The program will give 3,000 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, each gift worth 500,000 VND in cash and a shopping voucher worth 150,000 VND.

In addition to giving gifts, the union will also organize activities to visit, give gifts, and wish a happy new year to union members and employees on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025. In particular, the union will pay attention to union members in difficult circumstances, those with serious illnesses, work accidents, job losses, or employees who cannot return home for Tet.

Speaking to reporters, Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen, working at Mensa Industries Co., Ltd. in VSIP Quang Ngai Industrial Park, shared: “I have worked at the company for 5 years. On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2024, I received a one-month salary bonus from the company, and the union gave me candy, cakes, and soft drinks. This gift is not only a reward for the efforts throughout the year but also a great source of encouragement, helping union members and employees have a warmer and more fulfilling Tet for their families.”

According to Mr. Pham Thai Duong, in the last months of the year, the Dung Quat Economic Zone Trade Union and the province's Industrial Parks will proactively participate with the authorities to grasp the situation of labor relations; inspect and supervise employers in paying salaries and bonuses to employees during Tet to promptly detect and have solutions to ensure the rights of employees and employees in enterprises facing difficulties, unpaid salaries, unable to pay bonuses, owners absconding or temporarily suspending operations, or going bankrupt.
