At the program, Ms. Do Thi Huong - Chairwoman of Hung Yen Provincial Labor Federation and Ms. Pham Thi Thang - Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Labor Federation directly presented gifts to workers in particularly difficult circumstances, showing the concern and sharing of the Trade Union organization with workers during Tet and Spring. Each gift presented to workers includes 1,000,000 VND in cash and a gift bag worth 300,000 VND, to promptly support workers in difficult circumstances during Tet and Spring.
The atmosphere of the gift-giving ceremony was warm and close. At the production workshop, leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation cordially inquired and encouraged each worker, listening to shares about their life, work, living conditions, income as well as the difficulties they are facing. Simple and sincere greetings and gifts handed over not only bring material value but also are a source of spiritual encouragement, adding faith and willpower to workers.
Among the workers who received gifts, the story of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy and her husband left many emotions. The couple are from Muong Lai commune, Lao Cai province, came to Hung Yen to work as workers and are currently raising 3 young children. Due to difficult circumstances, the couple had to come from the countryside to look after their grandchildren so that the couple could feel secure to go to work. The family of 7 people rented 2 small rented rooms, living dependent on the workers' salaries of the couple.
The grandfather in the family had both arms amputated, one eye could not see, and his health was weak. The grandmother was also not healthy, while the children were still young. Living far from home was already hard, and it became even more burdened with worries when the whole family was large, living expenses were high, and income was precarious.
Sharing at the gift-giving ceremony, Ms. Thuy said that the whole family will return to their hometown soon. When asked about travel and expenses, she said she has not booked a car, and does not know how to travel, "go out and see which car, then take that car". The gentle, gentle, and shy way of speaking of the female worker from the highlands makes many people feel sorry and clearly feel the hardships and deprivations in her journey to make a living in a foreign land.
The gifts given in the program not only provide timely material support, but are also a sharing and spiritual encouragement, helping workers feel cared for and not left behind in difficult times. For many workers, it is warmth and great comfort amidst the busyness of life.
The gift-giving activity of the Hung Yen Provincial Labor Federation in coordination with the Golden Heart Charity Social Fund clearly shows the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for the lives of union members and workers, especially vulnerable and particularly difficult circumstances. Not only stopping at general policies and programs, direct activities at the grassroots level, at workshops, where workers are working, have contributed to spreading the spirit of humanity, sharing, and connection between the Trade Union organization and workers.
