Promoting the spirit of adapting to the digital environment
The 2026 Banking Industry Digital Transformation Contest is organized in the context of strong digital transformation taking place in all fields of socio-economic life, including digital transformation in Trade Union activities. The Banking industry identifies digital transformation as one of the key tasks to improve operational efficiency, service quality and competitiveness of the entire industry. Therefore, with its role, the Vietnam Banking Union decided to organize the "Banking Industry Digital Transformation Contest" in 2026, expected to take place in May 2026 in Hanoi. Through the Contest, the Vietnam Banking Union wishes to contribute to raising awareness, promoting the movement of learning, innovation and technology application among cadres, union members, and employees of the banking industry. The contest is also an activity to celebrate the success of the 14th National Congress of the Party, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Banking Industry (May 6, 1951 - May 6). 2026) and respond to the Banking Industry Digital Transformation Day 2026 (May 11, 2026).
As one of the active and pioneering units in implementing the "Digital Education for All" movement, this time, with the 2026 Banking Industry Digital Transformation Contest, the Vietnam Bank Union once again demonstrates its responsibility to spread the spirit of proactive learning, adapting to the digital environment, joining hands to promote the development of the digital economy, digital society and digital citizens according to the national digital transformation orientation.
Forum to share experiences on digital transformation
According to the Vietnam Bank Union, the contest is expected to be organized in staged form, including three rounds: "Joining forces" (introducing the team), "Conquering the digital age" (understanding knowledge about digital transformation) and "Creating a digital future" (suggesting and proposing digital transformation initiatives in the banking industry). Participants are union members and employees of directly superior grassroots trade unions, grassroots trade unions directly under the Vietnam Bank Union and credit units, credit institutions, and financial technology companies operating in the banking sector.
Each unit establishes a team to participate in the Vietnam Bank Trade Union Contest. The content of the survey focuses on the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and the State Bank's regulations related to digital transformation; strategies, programs, and development orientations for digital transformation in the banking industry; and at the same time encourages innovation initiatives and solutions associated with practical professional activities. Creativity and applicability will be enhanced in each competition section. Besides focusing on spreading digital transformation initiatives and solutions with practical value in banking operations.
Mr. Pham Tien Dung - Deputy Governor of the State Bank, Chairman of the Vietnam Bank Union highly appreciated the initiative to organize the Contest and assessed that this is a practical activity to spread the spirit of innovation, creativity and promote the digital transformation process in the entire industry. The Chairman of the Vietnam Bank Union also emphasized that in the past time, the Banking industry has always been one of the leading sectors in digital transformation, with many modern digital banking products and services serving people and businesses.
It can be seen that the organization of the 2026 Banking Industry Digital Transformation Contest has shown timely innovation in organizing activities based on the needs of employees. Through the Contest, the Vietnam Bank Union wishes to create an additional forum for officials, union members, and employees to exchange knowledge, share experiences, propose initiatives and practical digital transformation solutions, contributing to improving the operational efficiency of agencies and units throughout the system.
