Long Chu Commune People's Committee has just organized a conference to summarize the work of mobilizing and developing people to participate in social insurance (BHXH) and health insurance (BHYT) in the first quarter of 2026, which emphasized the task of expanding coverage for workers and laborers in the area.
In 2026, Long Chu commune is assigned the target of developing 14,353 people to participate in health insurance. In the first quarter, the locality mobilized 738 participants, including 83 new participants and 655 re-enrollment participants. The work of propagating social insurance and health insurance policies has received the coordination of unions and hamlets, contributing to raising people's awareness, especially workers in the individual business household sector and freelancers.
However, the implementation results are still low compared to the target for the whole year. Some difficulties are pointed out such as the network of collecting collaborators is still thin, propaganda work at some units has not been maintained regularly, along with the situation of shortage of medicines and medical supplies affecting the psychology of health insurance participation of people and workers.
In the second quarter of 2026, Long Chu commune determined to continue reviewing potential target groups, especially workers in agriculture - forestry - fishery households with average living standards and workers in individual business households to strengthen mobilization to participate in social insurance and health insurance.
At the same time, the locality will organize propaganda teams directly to each household, small group conferences at the grassroots level to improve the effectiveness of policy access.
Notably, Long Chu commune also strengthens inspection of health insurance participation of workers at small-scale production and business establishments; coordinates with social insurance agencies to compile a list of people who have not participated or are about to pay to promptly mobilize and ensure the rights to medical examination and treatment for workers.
At the same time, the locality continues to propose to higher levels to supplement medicines and medical supplies for commune health stations; maintain 24/24 hour duty, creating convenience for people and workers when using health insurance cards and citizen identification cards in medical examination and treatment.
Leaders of Long Chu Commune People's Committee emphasized the requirement for departments, branches, and unions to continue to innovate propaganda methods and launch emulation movements to complete the target of developing social insurance and health insurance participants in 2026. Expanding insurance coverage is identified as an important task to increase the "support" for social security for workers and laborers in the area, contributing to the implementation of the goal of health insurance coverage over 95.7% of the population and over 53.3% of the province's working-age population in 2026.
