In 2025, Vietnam Railways Corporation continues to innovate products, improve service quality to adapt to the requirements of the transportation market and development requirements. The enterprise maintains stable traditional services, while promoting value-added products and services.
Despite facing many difficulties and challenges, especially the continuous impact of natural disasters and storms, but with the spirit of solidarity and determination of the collective leadership, officials, employees and laborers, the production and business activities of the Corporation are still basically stable.

The work of ensuring security, order, and social safety on the train and at the station was maintained, preventing serious incidents from occurring. During the year, officers and staff of units returned property to passengers left behind on the train and at the station 128 times.
The Corporation promptly built and issued train running charts, creating conditions for units to proactively plan to sell tickets early and flexibly in organizing and operating transportation, thereby contributing to improving business efficiency. The rate of Thong Nhat passenger trains running on time reached 99%.
Along with that, businesses are promoting the development of high-quality passenger transport services, experiential products associated with tourism and high-end services to better meet market demand. Many typical new products in the year such as the "Red Phoenix Flower" train, the "5 Gates" tourist train have received attention and positive feedback from passengers and public opinion at home and abroad. In particular, the railway industry has restored the Gia Lam - Nanning - Beijing (China) international intermodal passenger train after 5 years of suspension due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

The Corporation also promotes the application of science and technology, digital transformation, especially in customer care; regularly updates information on Fanpage, Zalo OA, TikTok platforms about plans to run more trains, images of activities on community carriages, contributing to creating a positive impression on passengers.
In 2025, many mechanisms and policies related to the production and business activities of the Corporation continue to be concerned and removed by competent authorities, such as the Railway Law, the Law on Management and Investment of State Capital in Enterprises, regulations on exploiting railway infrastructure assets, and policies on taxes and fees to reduce difficulties and promote business operations. These are important fundamental factors, contributing to improving the efficiency of management, production and business and ensuring safety in exploiting and operating the existing railway system.
According to Mr. Hoang Gia Khanh - General Director of Vietnam Railways Corporation, despite being heavily affected by climate change, natural disasters and storms causing serious damage to the national railway infrastructure, forcing the Corporation to stop over 300 train trips, organize transportation of nearly 8,500 passengers and serve more than 45,000 free meals, but with a high spirit of unity, the entire industry still strives to overcome difficulties.
It is expected that in 2025, the Corporation's consolidated revenue will reach over 10,700 billion VND (up 10% compared to the same period), profit will reach 139 billion VND (up 5.3%), and parent company revenue will reach 3,031 billion VND (up 10.2%). Average income of employees will reach about 14 million VND/person/month, up 8% compared to the same period.
Outstanding events of the Railway industry in 2025
In 2025, the Railway (DR) industry accelerates innovation and restructuring to aim for growth of over 10% and prepare capacity for new DR projects.
On January 27, 2025, at Hanoi station, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected Tet transport work, requesting the railway industry to promote digital transformation, prepare human resources - technology - mechanics for the new development phase.
On August 7, 2025, the Party Committee of Vietnam Railways Corporation organized the XIII Congress for the term 2025-2030, consolidating the apparatus and establishing modern and sustainable development orientations.
Regarding investment, Resolution 187/2025/QH15 (February 19, 2025) approved the policy of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line, increasing domestic and international intermodal connectivity capacity; on December 19, 2025, component 1 of the project started construction.
Digital transformation is implemented on management and services: expanding ticket sales, electronic payments, automatic kiosks, AI switchboards and chatbots; and testing bio-diesel B5 fuel to reduce emissions.
The railway industry launched many tourist boat products, organized the "Unification Train Group" activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification; restored the Vietnam-China intermodal passenger train from May 2025 and achieved the title of "Best railway passenger transport unit".
Natural disasters and storms caused great damage but recovery was urgently implemented, the North-South route was cleared after landslides; free transportation of relief goods. Road traffic safety decreased in all 3 criteria. Business results: revenue of 10,700 billion VND (up 10%), employee income increased by 8% compared to 2024.
