Workers feel secure in production
In Di An city, Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Japanese investment, manufacturing automobile electrical wires, with more than 7,000 employees), the grassroots Trade Union negotiated and agreed with the company's Board of Directors on Tet bonuses.
Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung - Chairman of the Trade Union of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that the company and the trade union have agreed on the Tet bonus and salary for 2025 for employees. Regarding the Tet bonus, all employees with a working period of 1 year or more will receive 2 months of salary including basic salary and regular allowances.
The company also agreed with the union's proposal to advance 50% of January's salary to employees before Tet holiday. In addition to the bonus, the company agreed to increase the basic salary and some allowances by 4% from January 1, 2025. These contents were agreed by the company and the union on December 28, 2024.
Ms. Dinh Thi Anh (born in 1992, from Thanh Hoa, working in the production department) said that she had received a notice of Tet bonus from Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd.
“For workers who work hard all year long away from home, the Tet bonus is very important. The monthly income is just enough to cover living expenses. The Tet bonus helps workers have extra income to return home for Tet and buy necessities.
The company's early announcement of Tet bonuses helps workers feel secure in participating in production," Ms. Anh said.
Thong Dung Shoe Company Limited (An Phu ward, Thuan An city) has about 4,700 workers.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien - Chairman of the Trade Union of Thong Dung Shoe Company Limited - said that the company has announced information on Tet bonuses for excited employees. Tet bonuses are equal to 1 month of basic salary plus position allowance and technical allowance. Regarding salary advances, early payment will be made by January 15.
Union cares for union members and workers
In addition to the company's Tet bonus, the grassroots trade unions at enterprises also take care of workers. Most workers receive Tet gifts, each gift worth an average of 300,000 - 500,000 VND. The trade unions also provide additional support for those in difficult circumstances.
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien - Chairman of the Trade Union of Thong Dung Shoe Company Limited, the Trade Union is currently carrying out procedures to purchase Tet gifts for workers.
On average, each gift is worth over 500,000 VND. The union is also reviewing difficult and extremely difficult cases to provide additional support; at the same time, making recommendations to the Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor to provide additional support to workers. At the end of the year, the union coordinates with the company to organize a New Year's Eve party and give gifts to support workers in difficulty.
At Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd., Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung informed that the Trade Union will give each union member and employee a gift worth 300,000 VND.
These employees will receive an additional envelope of VND500,000 and a gift of VND300,000. The union also coordinated with the company to organize a bus to take workers home to celebrate Tet on the afternoon of January 25, 2025 (December 26). On the 6th day of Tet, workers will be picked up from their hometowns so they can return to work on the 9th day of Tet. Workers who show up on the first day of work will receive a lucky money of VND320,000 from the company and the union.
Mr. Pham Van Tuyen - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Binh Duong province said that up to now, 2,108 enterprises have reported on Tet bonuses in 2025. The average Tet bonus for At Ty 2025 is 9.16 million VND, the lowest is 4.960 million VND (for employees who have worked for 12 months). The highest Tet bonus of FDI enterprises is 840 million VND.
