On May 19, the Department of Home Affairs of Vinh Long province held a conference to summarize the work of sending workers to work abroad under contracts in 2024 and deploy directions and tasks for 2025.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vo Van Tam - Acting Director of the Department of Home Affairs said that in 2024, the whole province has sent 1,704 workers to work abroad under contracts (reaching 100.23% of the plan), focusing on the markets of Japan, Taiwan (China), Korea...
The province has provided loans to support workers working abroad under contracts under Resolution 18/2020/NQ-HDND of the Vinh Long Provincial People's Council, with a total loan capital of nearly 47 billion VND; lending turnover reached nearly 28 billion VND, supporting 377 workers in need of loans.
According to Mr. Vo Van Tam, one of the outstanding results of this work is an important contribution to improving the quality of the province's human resources; helping workers have a fairly high income; at the same time, contributing to building and promoting the image of Vinh Long in the international arena.
"In 2025, the Department will continue to direct the implementation and link with units to search for potential markets, advise and introduce jobs to 1,700 workers who want to work abroad," Mr. Tam added.

At the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged that the work of sending workers to work abroad under contracts has contributed to solving employment for Vinh Long people.
According to Ms. Thanh, in the coming time, the Department of Home Affairs and related sectors need to promote digital transformation in job consulting, introduction, as well as in sending workers to work abroad under contracts.
"It is necessary to do a good job of consulting, introducing, and creating the best conditions for workers to enjoy preferential policies when starting to register to work abroad under contracts," Ms. Thanh emphasized.
Also at the conference, many collectives and individuals were commended by the People's Committee of Vinh Long province for their contributions to the implementation of sending workers from Vinh Long province to work abroad under contracts in 2024.
