In the last days of the year, despite the very cold weather, union officials of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Province Industrial Zones still did not hesitate to travel to the rented rooms near VSIP Industrial Park and Tinh Phong Industrial Park to bring Tet gifts to workers. Many workers felt extremely touched when receiving the Tet gifts in person.
Ms. Dinh Thi Hoa - a worker at Kingmaker III Company Limited - shared: “I was very surprised and touched when I received Tet gifts right at the dormitory. Thank you to the Trade Union at all levels for always caring and supporting workers during the past time. I hope that in the future, more workers will receive such care and support.”
Visiting and giving Tet gifts to workers at their workplaces and dormitories is an activity in the "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" program series organized by the Provincial Labor Federation and trade unions at all levels in the province. Thereby, it shows the concern and sharing of the Party and State leaders, National Assembly deputies and Trade Union organizations for workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang - Vice Chairman of the Dung Quat Economic Zone and Provincial Industrial Zones Trade Union - shared: “At the end of the year, work is very busy, but at night when they return to their rooms to rest, we take time to go to the boarding houses to give Tet gifts to union members and workers. In addition to giving gifts, union officials also learn about the lives of workers, promptly grasp their thoughts and aspirations, from which they make proposals and recommendations to superiors to have practical support solutions for workers. During this year's Lunar New Year, the unit has reserved 50 gifts for union members and workers in the boarding houses. Each gift is worth 500 thousand VND, including cash and candy".
According to the Quang Ngai Provincial Federation of Labor, more than 102,000 union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers in the province were cared for and given gifts for the Lunar New Year 2025, with a total value of nearly 70 billion VND. Of which, the leaders of the Party, State, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presented 3,000 gifts, with a total value of 1.9 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Phuc Nhan - Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial Labor Federation - expressed: "Despite many difficulties, this year's traditional Tet, trade union organizations, enterprises... have made every effort to take care of Tet for union members and workers. To organize effective Tet care activities, trade unions at all levels have increased the socialization of resources, mobilized organizations, individuals, agencies, units and enterprises to accompany and support.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phuc Nhan, the level of Tet care for union members at the grassroots level depends on the available resources; for unions directly above the grassroots level, the support level is 500,000 VND/person. In case the unit has socialized resources, it can spend more, if the unit cannot balance the budget, it will report to the Provincial Federation of Labor for consideration and support.
