On August 7, VICEM held the 4th Party Congress (term 2025 - 2030). The Congress determined the goal of building a modern governance model on the basis of international standardization processes, developing VICEM into a strong branded enterprise, promoting green production, a circular economy and applying AI in production.
Reporting at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet - Chairman of the Board of Members of VICEM said that despite many difficulties in the 2020 - 2025 term, VICEM still closely follows the direction of the Party and the Government, effectively implements Party building work, cares for workers' lives, and actively contributes to building infrastructure and urban areas in the country.
According to Mr. Viet, the 2020 - 2025 term is considered the most difficult period in the history of the cement industry due to supply exceeding demand, input material prices increasing sharply, and slow consumption. However, with the spirit of solidarity and innovation, VICEM still completed the set targets: Total cement and clinker consumption reached nearly 129 million tons, revenue over VND 160,000 billion, pre-tax profit of VND 2,028 billion, and budget contribution of more than VND 7,500 billion.
Also in the past term, VICEM focused on maintaining equipment, optimizing operations, increasing the use of alternative materials such as waste, ash, artificial electrolytes, and minimizing environmental impacts. At the same time, promote the application of digital technology in production, consumption, sales management and finance.
Regarding organization, VICEM has implemented a divestment plan in 15 units outside the industry, developing a plan to increase charter capital for a number of member companies and improve capital efficiency. The enterprise also effectively implemented the Resettlement Project for the period 2019 - 2025, preparing the foundation for sustainable development in the coming period.
In the new term (2025 - 2030), VICEM will focus on 5 key tasks: Building a clean and strong Party organization; developing production and business associated with innovation; improving the efficiency of corporate governance; organizing a streamlined and efficient apparatus; ensuring jobs, income, and social security for workers. To bring the total expected clinker production output to 107 million tons, cement to more than 141 million tons, total revenue is estimated at nearly 198,000 billion VND, pre-tax profit strives to reach more than 6,000 billion VND.
To carry out the set tasks, VICEM will focus resources on investment in development, remove difficulties for weak units, restructure enterprises according to the approved Project; supplement charter capital for parent companies and member companies, improve production capacity and competitiveness.
In particular, VICEM will apply a modern governance model, build a team of high-quality managers and technical experts, promote comprehensive digital transformation along the value chain, build VICEM digital enterprises to create breakthroughs. At the same time, VICEM will apply artificial intelligence in the operating system, reduce manual intervention, optimize the operation of furnaces and accelerators, improve product quality, save energy, and reduce emissions.
