To get a salary of 20 million VND/month, candidates must meet dozens of requirements
According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, at the job transaction session recently organized by the Center, Viettel Equipment Production Corporation - One Member Limited Liability Company was one of the few units with a need to recruit high-quality human resources with salaries from 20 million VND/month or more.
However, the requirements businesses set for each recruitment position are extremely strict, with many requirements for degrees, certificates, experience, and foreign language proficiency.

For example, for the position of chief engineer, university degree is required; software design expert, university degree or higher is required; MRO maintenance team leader (managing, coordinating and supervising the team of technicians performing maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft or industrial equipment), university degree is required. Each position recruits 1 personnel, age from 29-35, salary from 20 million VND/month or more (specific agreement upon interview).
Businesses require university graduates or higher in information technology; chemical engineering; automation/electronics/telecommunications/electronics/mechatronics materials engineering; aviation engineering or equivalent. English equivalent to Toeic 550.
For positions of technology engineer (fields of mechanics, chemistry, electrical-electronics, mechanics, mechanical technology, software testing...) and design engineer (specialties of mechanics; product design; hardware design; software design; electrochemistry, battery materials), age is required 22-28.
Mr. Vu Quang Thanh - Deputy Director of Hanoi Employment Service Center said that the fact that businesses set strict recruitment standards for salaries from 20 million VND/month clearly reflects the fierceness and high screening of the market.
According to Mr. Thanh, the salary of 20 million VND is no longer a simple "carpet to welcome talent" based on a beautiful degree. To reach this milestone, employers require candidates to have full core skills: from professional qualifications, foreign language skills, technology/AI application capacity, to real-world experience and ability to solve practical problems.
This strictness shows that businesses are optimizing operating costs, prioritizing the recruitment of "multi-tasking" personnel who can create immediate added value instead of spending time retraining," Mr. Thanh said.
Notably, Mr. Vu Quang Thanh emphasized that even for personnel who graduate from "hot" industries such as information technology, logistics, a high-paying job ticket is not as easy as many people mistakenly believe. A "hot" industry degree is only a necessary condition. If they do not continuously update new skills, lack practical experience or are passive in the face of the digital transformation trend, new graduates are still very likely to fall into the unemployment trap or have to accept a low starting salary.
50 good people at the input, not necessarily 50 good people at the output
To date, many universities across the country have announced the benchmark scores for 2026. Accordingly, the benchmark score of 100 points according to the combined admission score scale is equivalent to 30 points when converted to a scale of 30.
Artificial Intelligence major has the highest benchmark score with 100 points, equivalent to 30 points on a 30-point scale. Closely followed are the majors of Foreign Economic Relations, Computer Science, Control Engineering - Automation, Auditing, recording very high scores, approaching the absolute level.
Mr. Tran Long Giang - Director of Thang Long Architecture Investment Joint Stock Company (Ha Dong ward, Hanoi City) frankly acknowledged that the majority of hot industry human resources will not be for small and medium-sized enterprises but must be FDI enterprises or large enterprises in information technology, manufacturing...
Mr. Giang assessed this group of personnel as special "products" of the labor market.

These are "products" that are selected, refined and only for a specific group of businesses. However, whether they satisfy businesses or not, whether businesses accept paying high salaries or not depends on the actual work," Mr. Giang said.
Mr. Giang analyzed that employers will recognize students in the industry group with sky-high entrance scores in the most practical and pragmatic way. For employers, university graduates are new personnel who approach academic and theoretical knowledge, but practical experience is not much. Therefore, the efforts of each individual in the school years are extremely important.
The input is very strict, but the output is not that 50 people means 50 products are all good and excellent. What businesses need is also the 4-5 years of learning, personal will, cultivation, and strength...", Mr. Giang said.
With Mr. Giang's company, the recruitment viewpoint is also very practical. For example, with a personnel that requires proficiency and deep understanding of AI, Mr. Giang requires specific skill levels.
Previously, to produce a 3D perspective photo post-production, it sometimes took 3-4 days. Now it only needs to have standard commands, layers, details, and in just 5 minutes it can produce very beautiful post-production. But that is only a very small content in the application of AI in work. Thus, just 1 area, 1 content already has many different requirements," Mr. Giang shared.
Also according to Mr. Giang, businesses only pay a lot of money when the personnel meet high-level requirements, and they themselves must be experienced and have deep experience in the professional field.
Mr. Giang added that if they meet "war horses" (good personnel who can handle in-depth work requirements), businesses are very open and willing to have special treatment regimes. In addition to salaries, quality personnel can completely negotiate about additional income according to projects...
You are assigned to sell as much effort as you earn money. We do not hesitate to spend money if the personnel are really useful for the business," Mr. Giang affirmed.
