On September 6, Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation to organize the "Workers with Law and Security, Order 2026" Day in Tan Tao Industrial Park. This is one of two key propaganda programs to be implemented in September 2026 in industrial parks in Tan Tao and Phu My wards (expected to take place on September 27), attracting a large number of union members and workers to participate.
Identifying sophisticated criminal tricks
At the festival, functional forces conveyed specialized topics on traffic safety, drug crime prevention and network security through visual and vivid methods. Many real-life situations were presented by the police force to help workers clearly identify violations and potential risks in daily life.
Ms. Phan Thi Quynh Nhu, a worker working at Tan Tao Industrial Park, shared that she was once very vague about new generation drugs disguised as electronic cigarettes or white powder.
If I am not directly guided, it is very difficult for me to distinguish drugs from ordinary powders. These knowledge helps people who regularly travel or deliver goods like us to proactively raise our vigilance and avoid being exploited by bad guys" - Ms. Nhu confided.
Not only the risk from drugs or traffic violations, but also scams in cyberspace are of concern to workers. Ms. Lan Huong, a design employee in Tan Tao ward, said that her colleague was once impersonated by bad guys who urged her to deliver goods and defrauded her of 40,000 VND. According to Ms. Huong, acquiring legal knowledge through specific images and clips of situations helps workers easily remember and apply them to avoid psychological manipulation in the face of strange calls.
Accompanying workers from factories to life
In addition to propaganda work, the festival also presented gifts to encourage workers in difficult circumstances. Receiving support from the organizing committee, Ms. Vu Thi La, a worker residing in Tan Tao ward, who has worked in the locality for 10 years, could not hide her emotion. As the main laborer supporting a large family, she said that the propaganda sessions not only helped her learn how to protect herself when coming home late from work or be vigilant about helping strangers pawn things, but also valuable knowledge to teach her children.
Thanks to the guidance of the police force, I know how to prevent risks for myself and teach my children self-protection skills. I really hope that practical propaganda programs like this will be replicated nationwide so that people can improve their understanding and live safer lives" - Ms. Vu Thi La shared.
Assessing the meaning of the program, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son - Head of the Working Group for Trade Union Management of Export Processing Zones - Industrial Parks of Ho Chi Minh City - said that the Festival organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Police is a very practical activity, attracting a large number of workers to participate. Through thematic topics on drug prevention and control, traffic safety and network security, workers have more opportunities to access important legal regulations.
According to Mr. Son, due to the specific nature of busy working hours, workers at enterprises often have little opportunity to access information and legal regulations. Organizing direct propaganda combined with lively and cheerful content helps workers absorb knowledge more easily and effectively.
To maintain security and order at the grassroots level, the Working Group for Trade Union Management of Export Processing Zones - Industrial Parks of Ho Chi Minh City regularly closely coordinates with the police force, local authorities and mass organizations. In addition to focused propaganda campaigns, the working group also guides grassroots trade unions to proactively integrate the content of disseminating laws into thematic meetings or working sessions at enterprises, creating a positive spillover effect and receiving enthusiastic response from workers.
