The opening ceremony took place solemnly with the announcement of the Decision to recognize new students admitted to the University level in 2024.
At the opening ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Manh Hung - Principal of the school emphasized that with nearly 80 years of construction and development, the Trade Union University has become a leading flag in the university education system, standing out with its diversity of professions and training fields.
The school is affiliated to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and is under the State management of the Ministry of Education and Training in terms of expertise. The school constantly strives to fulfill its mission: Training and fostering cadres for the Trade Union organization, while providing high-quality human resources for society.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Huynh Thanh Xuan highly appreciated the efforts of the staff, lecturers and employees, and at the same time suggested strengthening solidarity and promoting the strengths of each individual to continue achieving good results. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor always creates all conditions for the school to develop.
At the Opening Ceremony, the School and sponsors also awarded scholarships and rewards.
Of which, the “Trade Union Scholarship Program” for the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year will be awarded to 13 students. Each scholarship is equivalent to 50% of the tuition fee according to State regulations, applicable to students who are children of workers, civil servants, and laborers who have had accidents or occupational diseases. The total scholarship amount is 40,365,000 VND.
The school also announced the Decision to recognize the emulation title for full-time students in the 2023-2024 school year for 2,324 full-time students with a total amount of 226,050,000 VND. Of which, 151 students achieved the title of Excellent, the reward level was 200,000 VND/student; 872 students achieved the title of Excellent, the reward level was 150,000 VND/student and 1,301 students achieved the title of Good, the reward level was 50,000 VND/student.
In particular, at the Opening Ceremony, the Trade Union University honored and rewarded 13 students from 13 majors (12 faculties) with the highest achievements in the 2024 regular university entrance exam. Each of these valedictorians was awarded 3,000,000 VND. The source of the award was sponsored by the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam, Dong Anh branch.
On this occasion, BIDV Bank, Trang Tien branch, awarded scholarships to poor students and outstanding students with excellent academic achievements, totaling 50,000,000 VND.
