Over the past 5 years (2020-2025), the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has effectively organized patriotic emulation movements, mobilizing and attracting millions of workers, civil servants and laborers in all sectors, localities and bases, in all economic sectors to participate, contributing positively to the cause of industrialization and modernization for the goal of building a prosperous and happy country. Through emulation movements, thousands of typical advanced collectives and individuals have appeared, many of whom have been rewarded with noble forms.
Among them are outstanding examples, with diligence, creativity, and responsibility to achieve great results.
After nearly 20 years of working with Nam Can Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Ca Mau), Ms. Duong Thi Phuong Anh is a typical example. Starting as a preliminary processing worker, stacking boxes of seafood in the freezing cold of the freezing cold factory every day, she always maintains a serious and disciplined working spirit. When she was promoted to the position of Head of the Statistics Team, she carried the spirit of a real worker: Be meticulous, honest, always grasp every number to lead the company to effectively manage production.
Ms. Phuong Anh is also an active union official, exemplary in the movement "Good at public affairs, good at housework". She has had many technical initiatives to help the company save hundreds of millions of VND each year - such as replacing reusable nylon cards, replacing stainless steel baskets with plastic baskets to avoid falling on products, or reusing clean packaging.
For her, racing is not a far- away slogan, but an action every day - doing better than your own work yesterday.
If Ms. Phuong Anh is a symbol of perseverance and dedication, then engineer Chu Anh Tu, working at Toyota Boshoku Hai Phong Company Limited, is a model of intellectual workers - tirelessly innovating to create great value.
During his 20 years working at the company, Mr. Tu has had more than 40 technical initiatives, bringing the company more than 50 billion VND in benefits. There are seemingly small improvements - such as designing a process to take advantage of surplus coils, connecting small coils into large coils to reduce waste - but helping to save billions of dong each year and reduce industrial waste.
Anh Tu said: "The initiative is not the work of one person, but the result of the whole group sharing the responsibility to make the work better". Therefore, he often encourages colleagues in the department to self-register for emulation, establish small emulation groups to share experiences and promptly reward.
In Phu Tho, Ms. Dang Thi Luong - Deputy Head of Completion Department of CosMOS1 Technology Co., Ltd., is a vivid testament to the spirit of "good at public affairs, good at housework". After more than 15 years of working, she has proposed dozens of initiatives to help businesses save hundreds of millions of VND each year - from cutting down on the production stage of empty footrest, optimizing workers' operations, to proposing a model to improve labor safety. As the head of the department with more than 100 female employees, she always encourages and guides women to register for the title of "Good at public affairs, good at housework" - so that everyone can see that they can compete and contribute from work and family. "Emulation is not to let anyone be better than anyone, but to let each person be better than themselves today than yesterday" - Ms. Luong said.
The power of collective efforts
Over the past 5 years, the patriotic emulation movements of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor have recorded more than 2.7 million initiatives with a total value of more than 102,920 billion VND. Those figures are not only the results of campaigns, but the mark of millions of people.

Behind each initiative, each typical example, there is always a companion sign of the Trade Union organization - a place to arouse the spirit of competition, connect creative ideas and turn individual efforts into collective strength.
In recent years, Trade Unions at all levels have strongly innovated the way of organizing movements: From launching quarterly and in batches, to online emulation, registering for initiatives on digital platforms, or "Creative Labor Festival" - where workers directly introduce solutions and share good practices.
Models such as "Union accompanies businesses for jobs, workers' lives", "75 thousand initiatives to overcome difficulties", "1 million initiatives - victory over COVID-19" have helped the emulation movement spread widely, becoming a cultural feature in businesses.
The trade union not only encourages the spirit but also acts as a bridge between the initiatives of workers and the business leadership, helping to realize proposals, creating an environment to encourage creativity. Many enterprises have formed "Workers' Initiative Fund" and "Innovation Club" under the sponsorship of grassroots trade unions, to promptly recognize, reward and replicate typical examples.
At the same time, the Trade Union organization is also a "companion" in digital transformation, helping workers adapt to new technology, learn digital skills, and participate in training courses to improve productivity. At the national level, the Nguyen Duc Canh Award, the Nguyen Van Linh Award, the Creative Labor Certificate... have become symbols to recognize the contributions of union officials and union members - affirming the pioneering role of the Vietnam Trade Union in arousing the desire for innovation.
Entering a new period - confident with the country
The period of 2025 - 2030 is the period when the country strives to implement the Resolutions of the Party, especially the Resolution of the 14th National Congress. The patriotic emulation movement for workers and civil servants will have new changes with the spirit of "Workers are the subject; Effectiveness is the center; Changes at the grassroots level are a measure; The spread and replication of the model is the evaluation criterion". In particular, the emulation content focuses on innovation, digital transformation, and improving labor productivity. These are the contents that are expected to open a more comprehensive and in-depth emulation journey, so that workers nationwide can confidently join the country in entering a new era.
