According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, entering early 2026, the capital's economy is expected to continue to maintain positive growth momentum. The confidence of the business community is an important indicator, with over 43,600 newly registered businesses and returning to operation in 2025.
Quarter I/2026 is the peak period of domestic consumption to serve the shopping demand in preparation for the Lunar New Year. This strong demand is forecast to comprehensively promote the processing and manufacturing industry and trade-service sector, especially the food processing, textile, footwear retail, tourism, food and beverage, and transportation industries.
At the same time, Hanoi City's continued promotion of disbursement of public investment capital will be an important "support", not only for the construction industry but also creating positive spillover effects to many related sectors, contributing to ensuring the overall growth target.
Hanoi Employment Service Center forecasts that in the first 3 months of 2026, the capital's economy and labor market will have vibrant changes, driven by two main drivers: the determination to break through to achieve the GRDP growth target of over 11% for the whole year and the explosive consumer demand of the holiday season. This growth pressure will create a strong impetus for recruitment demand, especially in the industry - construction and service sectors.
According to forecasts, the wholesale and retail industry, motor vehicle repair will have the most breakthrough job growth (over 4%). The manufacturing industry (up about 3%) to meet year-end shopping and entertainment needs.
Other key economic sectors such as tourism, restaurant services, catering, and logistics transportation are also forecast to recover and have slight job growth, contributing to overall stability.
In general, the recruitment wave at the beginning of the new year will be very vibrant. However, the core challenge of skill compatibility between labor supply and demand will still be the main problem, requiring effective connection between businesses, workers and training units," said a representative of the Hanoi Employment Service Center.
