The conference to deploy documents on trade union congresses at all levels towards the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031 was opened by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of October 9.
The conference was attended by chairmen, vice chairmen, and officials in charge of organizing trade union congresses of the Southern Labor Federations of provinces and cities, and the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung; Member of the Presidium, Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Tong Van Bang chaired the conference.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung said that the organization of trade union congresses at all levels towards the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031 is carried out in a new context when shortening the congress term to 3 years and in the context of implementing the policy of local government at two levels, with many changes in the political system as well as trade union organization and personnel of trade union organizations with many changes.
However, despite many difficulties, trade unions at all levels must overcome them to organize trade union congresses on schedule according to general regulations.
Regarding the work of developing union members, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung said that implementing the policy of reorganizing the government apparatus, the number of union members and grassroots unions has decreased. Therefore, developing union members and establishing grassroots unions and grassroots unions is a proactive solution to develop the union organization in a sustainable way and thereby effectively performing the function of the union organization as a representative, protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests and caring for union members and workers.
The conference listened to officials of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor present their plans to organize trade union congresses at all levels towards the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031, Guidelines for personnel work of trade union congresses at all levels, term 2025 - 2030, Report on the results of developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions in the third quarter and first 9 months of 2025; Directions and tasks for the fourth quarter of 2025; Report on the results of management and use of trade union member management software from 2016 to present; solutions for implementation in the coming time.
The conference also listened to opinions from union officials on current practical union activities in the locality, issues related to developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, grassroots unions, the use of software to manage union members, difficulties and obstacles in the process of preparing to organize union congresses at all levels.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung; Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Tong Van Bang also directly answered and discussed a number of issues under the authority of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Some issues beyond their authority are recorded and summarized to report to competent authorities for handling and resolution.
