Billion-VND initiative helps improve productivity
From the success of the initiative that profited more than 5 billion VND in 2024, in 2025, Ms. Duong Thi Thuy Hang (born in 1990, Production Planning Director cum Chairman of the Trade Union of GREENWORKS Vietnam Co., Ltd.) continued to succeed with the initiative "Early warning system for risks of broken supply of raw materials".
Starting from the fact that businesses often experience production interruptions due to lack of raw materials, Ms. Hang has built an integrated system to assess suppliers, monitor inventory according to safety thresholds, automatic warnings and a visual dashboard. The initiative helps reduce up to 80% of production interruptions, saving about 3.2 billion VND per year, contributing to maintaining jobs and ensuring stable production operations.
Also from the inadequacies in the production process, Ms. Nguyen Hoang Yen (born in 1997, purchasing staff of Steel Flower Hai Phong Electronics & Machinery Co., Ltd.) launched the initiative "Optimizing input material sizes to reduce waste and stainless steel production time".
Describing this initiative, Ms. Yen said that during the steel coil belt discharge process, a large amount of excess coils arose, causing the coil coils at both edges to fill up quickly. Therefore, workers had to regularly stop the line many times to dismantle and replace the coil coils, disrupting the production flow and significantly reducing the operating productivity of the line. The high coils ratio leads to increased cost of raw materials and reduces the efficiency of raw material use in production...
From this reality, Ms. Yen researched and proposed a solution to optimize the input material size by ordering Slit edge steel rolls with a width suitable for the actual splitting plan of the production line. The initiative helps to significantly improve production efficiency at the ice-clearing line. The waste disposal rate of stainless steel reduced from 4.6%-6.3% previously to about 0.9%-3.2%. The processing time of each stainless steel roll with a volume of 6 to 6.5MT is also shortened by an average of 45 minutes/roll. Thanks to that, the ice-clearing line can operate more stably and continuously, minimizing stopping the machine to handle excess edges. The economic efficiency is estimated at over 1.9 billion VND/year.
Research on building initiative banks
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of Hai Phong City Labor Federation - said that the emulation movement "Good Labor - Creative Labor" has encouraged tens of thousands of turns of workers and employees to actively research, innovate, and be creative in labor, production, and work. Through this, hundreds of thousands of initiatives, technical improvements, and production rationalization have been born, contributing to improving productivity, quality, labor efficiency, and competitiveness of businesses and the city.
Recently, on July 17, Hai Phong City Labor Federation organized a conference to commend 119 individuals who received Creative Labor Certificates from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; 142 good workers were awarded certificates of merit from the City People's Committee and the City Labor Federation. Thereby, promptly recognizing the contributions of union members, CNVCLĐ, continuing to strongly ignite the spirit of dedication, innovation, creativity in the period of accelerating industrialization, modernization and international integration.
From now to 2030, Hai Phong City Labor Federation will continue to promote and promote the effectiveness of key movements, taking productivity, quality, initiatives, and technical improvements as the focus, striving to have 1,000 initiatives and 100 Creative Labor Certificates annually. In which, the City Labor Federation focuses on emulation according to industry groups and specific fields, suitable to the characteristics of each bloc; building the "Hai Phong Trade Union Initiative Bank", helping to share and replicate good models and solutions, creating motivation to widely spread the movement to each union member and employee.
