Exceeded 20% of union member development target
In 2024, the Industrial Trade Union was assigned to develop an additional 2,150 members. From the beginning of the year, the Executive Committee of the Industrial Trade Union conducted a survey of the situation of enterprises and workers to develop a plan to develop union members and establish a grassroots trade union (CDCS) in accordance with reality.
Ms. Ho Thi Xuan Hanh, Chairwoman of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Trade Union, said that first of all, the Trade Union directed grassroots trade unions to enhance their responsibility to work with enterprises to stabilize labor relations and take good care of policies and regimes for workers. Raise awareness among cadres, union members, workers and employers about the meaning and importance of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions. For workers who are not yet union members, it is recommended that grassroots trade unions effectively use union finances to provide timely support during holidays and Tet; organize cultural and sports activities to create a playground for them to trust and voluntarily join the trade union.
The Industrial Workers' Union proactively innovates its approach to businesses, first of all by approaching the human resources department to learn about the difficulties and advantages of workers. From the difficulty point of lack of human resources of businesses, during the month, the Industrial Workers' Union coordinated to organize job connections.
The initial success of the job fairs is not only finding suitable workers for the company but also the Union has access right from the start to mobilize workers to join the Union. This is also a breakthrough solution for the Union to access proactive union members sooner instead of being passive as before.
“The union helps workers find good and stable jobs, businesses have better quality workers, and recruit more. From the bridge, the two sides have trusted each other. This is the channel we have focused on in recent times,” Ms. Hanh shared.
In addition to the establishment of new ones, the Industrial Trade Union always focuses on perfecting and building a team of knowledgeable and dedicated trade union officials; focusing on training and fostering officials, equipping them with necessary knowledge, not focusing on administration, and assisting the grassroots trade union in implementing and organizing activities.
Ninh Thuan Industrial Trade Union also increased coordination with sectors to dialogue, propagate, and advise on policies and regimes for union members and workers.Thereby, workers better understand the union, boldly express and share concerns with the sectors, and become closer to union officials...
As a result, by the end of November 2024, the Industrial Trade Union had established 3 new enterprise-based unions, striving to establish all business units with 25 or more employees, reaching 100%.Union membership development increased by 2,571 union members, exceeding the assigned target by 20%.
Grassroots unity is strength
Up to this point, Ninh Thuan Industrial Trade Union has reached the finish line early with 11/11 targets achieved and exceeded. Of which, 8 targets were exceeded such as: Developing union members exceeded 20%, completing tasks well or better at the grassroots level exceeded 24%, introducing outstanding union members to the Party for consideration, training and admission to the Communist Party of Vietnam exceeded 17%, inspecting grassroots union finances exceeded 13%, collecting union funds estimated at 115%...
To achieve this result, Ms. Ho Thi Xuan Hanh said that thanks to directly supporting union cadres to organize workers' movements and union activities, promoting strength from the grassroots, contributing to the completion of the set tasks and targets.
According to Ms. Hanh, the understanding and support from the grassroots and the persistent efforts of union officials are the important keys to building a union organization in the new situation.
