Adobe is preparing to launch a premiere version for the iPhone, with a release date of September 30, according to information on the App Store. This is the first time this famous professional video editing software has been brought to a mobile platform, expanding creativity for smartphone users.
According to Adobe, premiere on iOS will allow users to edit and output videos without adding blurred vision. The application inherits many features from the desktop version, including cutting, layering, frame refinement, supporting automatic sub beginning, video - audio - text layering, as well as 4K HDR video output. In addition, the "Enhanced Voiceover" feature will help remove background noise, supporting filming in noisy environments.
A notable highlight is the integration of Adobe Firefly AI technology into the application. Users can create images, sounds, or even videos with text reminders. premiere on iPhone also provides access to music library, sound effects, photos, videos, graphics, along with wallpaper and presets from the Lightroom app.
The app will be released for free, but enhanced features like AI credit and cloud storage will require pay. Adobe said the Android version is in development but has not announced a release date.
This move is considered a strategic move by Adobe in the context of increasingly fierce competition in mobile video editing, especially when TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts continue to dominate short video content. Meta has previously introduced the Edits video editing app, while startup Captions backed by a16z, has also moved to the freemium model to expand users.
In 2025, Adobe continues to promote the mobile segment: the company released Photoshop for iOS in February, a beta on Android in June, and launched a separate app for Firefly on both platforms. The launch of premiere on the iPhone shows the ambition to maintain its position in the field of digital creation, while approaching the new generation of content creators on mobile devices.
