According to 9to5Google, the newly discovered Android Auto version 13.5 has small but promising adjustments, with a switch from "Car" to "Vehicle" in the application settings.
This change, though small, shows that Google is moving towards supporting more types of vehicles, including motorbikes.
Currently, Android Auto requires cars to either support it out of the box or have compatible audio equipment. However, with new findings from 9to5Google, this limitation could soon be lifted, with motorcycles likely to be the first to arrive.
The move promises to take full advantage of the high-end displays on modern vehicles, delivering a sharper and more refined experience that matches today's infotainment systems.
Google is also preparing a visual upgrade for Android Auto. Data from the latest update reveals support for higher-resolution screens, beyond the current 1920x1080p limit. This is a big step forward, making Android Auto more responsive to the demands of modern displays in cars and other vehicles.
These improvements aren't yet included in the current version of Android Auto but are expected to appear in future software updates.
Android Auto is a Google app that connects your smartphone to your car's infotainment system. With an intuitive interface, Android Auto supports navigation, music playback, messaging, and hands-free calling via voice commands.
