Previously, CEO Tim Cook hinted at "a week of explosion ahead", with product announcements starting from Monday.
In today's Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman said that some employees believe that the level of preparation for new products this time is "equivalent to the time before the new iPhone is launched in the fall", suggesting that at least one device announced from the beginning of the week will be very attractive to the mass market.
The product is predicted to receive a lot of attention, especially the rumored cheap MacBook model. According to the newsletter, this device is described as "an incredible value". The company believes that a more affordable MacBook will help "attract a large number of users to switch from Windows and Chromebooks".
Although there is no specific information about the starting price, estimates in the US range from $599 - $799. Qualified students and lecturers can get an additional $100 discount compared to the listed price.
The cheap MacBook model is said to use the A18 Pro chip - the chip on the iPhone 16 Pro instead of the M chip line. The device may have a smaller 12.9-inch screen. Based on the specifications of the A18 Pro, it is likely to come with 8GB of RAM and equip standard USB-C ports instead of high-speed Thunderbolt.
The new MacBook model is rumored to have many youthful color options such as yellow, green, blue or pink.
In addition to the cheap MacBook, most other products expected to be launched this week are mainly upgraded with chips without significant design changes. The list may include iPhone 17e equipped with A19 chip, iPad Air using M4 chip, iPad 12 with A18 chip, MacBook Air using M5 chip and MacBook Pro models running M5 Pro or M5 Max.
