Check if WiFi is turned on
First, check if the WiFi on your computer is turned on.
How to do it: Press the WiFi icon on the Taskbar → Select to turn on WiFi if it is off → If the laptop has the WiFi on/off function key, press Fn + the key with the WiFi icon.
Turn off airplane mode
When airplane mode is activated, the computer will disconnect all wireless connections.
How to do it: Press Windows + A → Check Airplane Mode → If it is on, press to turn it off.
Restart modem and computer
Many connection errors are only temporary.
How to do it: Turn off the modem/router for about 30 seconds → Turn it back on → Restart the computer → Reconnect to the WiFi network.
Check if the device sees the WiFi network
If the WiFi list does not appear, the cause may be from the network card or router.
How to do it: Tap the WiFi icon on the Taskbar → Check if a network name appears → If you don't see any network, try moving closer to the router or checking the WiFi card.
Forget the WiFi network and reconnect
Old connection information may be faulty.
How to do it: Open Settings → Network & Internet → WiFi → Manage known networks → Select the network you are using → Tap Forget → Reconnect and enter the password.
Update WiFi driver
A faulty or too old driver can prevent the computer from connecting to the network.
How to do it: Press Windows + X → Select Device Manager → Open Network adapters → Right-click on the WiFi card → Select Update driver.
Reactivate the network card
Sometimes the WiFi card is disabled.
How to do it: Open Device Manager → Network adapters → Right-click on the WiFi card → Select Enable device if it is turned off.
Run Windows troubleshooting program
Windows has a tool that automatically detects and fixes some network errors.
How to do it: Open Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters → Select Network and Internet → Press Run and follow the instructions.
Reset network settings
If the above methods are not effective, users can reset the entire network configuration.
How to do it: Open Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced network settings → Network reset → Select Reset now → Restart the computer.
