Google has just officially expanded the "Help me edit" feature on the Google Photos application to Android users, after a period of limited testing on Pixel 10 devices.
This is a smart photo editing tool based on AI Gemini, allowing users to make commands using natural language instead of having to manually operate through tools or sliders.
Previously, at the made by Google event, this feature was introduced as an important step forward in the photo editing experience, when combining AI power to simplify the process.
In a recent blog post, Google confirmed that eligible Android users in the US can already use it.
With the ability to understand and process natural language, users only need to enter text or use voice to request edits. For example, you can say delete the car from the photo background or reset this old photo and the application will automatically do it. If the result is not satisfactory, you can add the next instructions to fine-tune the photo.
In addition to basic operations such as deleting or blurring the background, Help me edit also supports adding or deleting subjects, changing behind-the-scenes, inserting people into photos or combining many other effects. This is considered a multi-function tool, helping users create quickly without many editing skills.
The use is also very simple: open Google Photos, select the image to edit, and tap the Help me edit button in the bottom corner of the screen.
The system will suggest available commands like eliminate the messy background, or you can enter a direct request. AI Gemini will then process and give you a result in just a few seconds.
Notably, all photos edited through this feature will be labeled C2PA with the words headline edit with AI tools, to make the source of editing transparent.
The new feature is now rolling out in the US market for eligible Android devices. However, Google has not revealed the time of expanding globally, including Vietnam. Android users will therefore have to wait longer to experience this promising natural language photo editing feature.
