A phone falling into the water can cause panic among many people, especially with devices that are not waterproof. However, if you handle it promptly and properly, you can still save the "loving generation" from complete damage.
1. Quickly remove the phone from the water and turn off the power
The first and most important step is to remove the device from the water as quickly as possible, then immediately turn off the power.
Because, electricity when combined with water will cause mach failure, causing widespread damage. Even when the phone is still working, continued use can cause permanent damage to the hardware.
2. Dry the outside, remove components if possible
Use a soft towel, foam paper or dried cotton to clean the water on the outer shell and the joints. If the device allows, remove the SIM, memory card, and back cover. Absolutely do not shake the device or use a hair dryer, as it can cause water to spread deeper into the internal components.
3. No charging, no turning on the phone immediately
Many people make mistakes when trying to check if their phone is still working without turning the device back on or charging. This is a dangerous act. Let the machine rest for at least 2448 hours to make sure the inside is completely dry.
4. Use a dehumidifier or silica package instead of rice
A popular folk tip is to put your phone in the rice box, but this method is not really very effective.
The rice will not absorb moisture well with silica gel and can leave dirt. It is best to place the device in a sealed bag containing Silica gel packages often found in shoe boxes or electronic devices.
5. Bring to the repair center if necessary
If after a few days the device still does not work or there are unusual signs such as blurred screen or loudspeaker, you should bring it to a reputable repair center. Deep intervention by hand without expertise can further damage the device.
