Apple has just officially introduced the iPhone 17 series, including iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air. This time, instead of focusing only on design and cameras, Apple focuses on performance and gaming experience, a factor that has been a weakness of many previous generations of iPhones.
The heart of the product line is the A19 and A19 Pro chips, manufactured on TSMC's N3P 3nm process. According to Apple, the A19 Pro offers a 40% increase in durability compared to the A18 Pro, while the GPUs of the standard A19 are 20% faster than the previous generation.
Improvements in branch prediction, front-end bandwidth and buffer memory help multi- tasks, video editing or heavy game play more smoothly, while saving electricity.
In particular, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are equipped with a ventilation room system for the first time. This technology helps the device maintain stable performance when handling heavy tasks like AAA games. Combined with the 7,000 series of alloy wheels, Apple hopes this will be a solution for the problem of overheating and poor performance that is common in previous iPhone models.
In terms of display, Apple has expanded the ProMotion 120Hz Super Retina XDR display to the entire product line. Bringing the high scanning frequency to the standard version is a big step forward, bringing a smooth gaming experience, quick feedback and smooth rolling of pages. The Always-On screen is also optimized for battery saving.
Not only serving gamers, the iPhone 17 series also strongly supports content creation. All models have an 18MP front camera that supports Center Stage and a 48MP Fusion main camera.
Combined with the processing power of A19, users can record videos, stream or edit right on the phone while still ensuring performance.
For many years, iPhones have often achieved high benchmark scores but have had difficulty playing games for a long time due to limited heat output.
With a powerful A19 chip, air conditioning system and 120Hz screen, the iPhone 17 series is considered an important step forward, bringing the mobile gaming experience closer to consoles and PCs. This could be the upgrade that the gaming community has been waiting for so long.
