At the opening ceremony of the Da Nang SURF Innovation Startup Festival 2025 on July 30, Mr. Ho Quang Buu - Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee said that in the context of Da Nang implementing a 2-level local government model, aiming to build a digital government, a smart city, develop high-tech parks, innovation centers, and semiconductor microchip industry.
The message "Da Nang - City of Innovation" is a commitment, a guideline and a steadfast city strategy in pursuing the spirit of Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo: Science, technology, innovation and Digital Transformation - foundation, a driving force for rapid and sustainable development.
Implementing Resolution No. 136 of the National Assembly, with high political determination, Da Nang issued and synchronously deployed more than 20 documents, mechanisms, policies, and plans to develop a fairly comprehensive and substantial Creative Startup Ecosystem.
Create a breakthrough momentum in the formation and continuous development of supporting organizations, incubation facilities, adventure investment funds, and spirit investors; especially policies to support creative startup projects, tax exemptions and reductions, the development of semiconductor microchips and the application of new technology, to the formation of a space for innovation in Da Nang, the construction of research centers, high-tech incubation gardens, and high-tech parks.
Along with that, the Free Trade Zone, applied for the first time in Vietnam, promises to create momentum for Da Nang to make a breakthrough; build a regional-scale International Financial Center, attract strategic partners, financial institutions, support services, legal services and legal consulting units, accountants, auditing... international and domestic investment and operation
"For 4 consecutive years, Da Nang has been honored as an attractive city for innovative startups. The 2024 local innovation index ranked 5th in the country. In 2025, Da Nang has made a remarkable increase and ranked 766th in the top 1,000 typical cities in the Global Startup Ecosystem according to the StartupBlink Global StartupEcosystem Research and Mapping Center.
After the merger, with outstanding results, for many consecutive years, Quang Nam has led in organizing TechFest and developing the network, Da Nang has many opportunities and development space; forming many innovative startups; including businesses that successfully raised millions of USD", Mr. Buu emphasized.
