Like many other technology companies, Mozilla has integrated a series of artificial intelligence features into its products in recent times.
However, this unit recently admitted that not all users want tools such as chatbots or artificial intelligence features to appear in the sidebar of the Firefox browser. Therefore, Mozilla decided to give users the option to turn them off.
In the near future, Mozilla will release Firefox version 148, which adds the "artificial intelligence control" section in the computer settings. Here, users can block all existing and future artificial intelligence features, or only turn on the tools they really need.
Users can turn off or on the chatbot in the sidebar, automatic translation feature, create image descriptions for PDF files, smart tag grouping tool (suggesting related tags and group names), as well as web previews displaying "main points" before clicking on the link.
If you want to remove all these features and not be disturbed by Firefox by notifications or pop-up windows related to artificial intelligence, users just need to turn on the "Block artificial intelligence improvements" option.
This move shows that Mozilla seems to realize that, instead of letting artificial intelligence features consume resources and make applications increasingly heavy, what many users still want is a fast, safe and compact browser.
