Currently, users only need to register for the Google One AI Premium package to have access to Gemini Advanced. However, according to new findings from TestingCatalog, Google appears to be developing two more subscription packages focusing on artificial intelligence.
The code streams found in the web version of Gemini suggest that users may soon have access to two new AI levels: Gemini Pro and Gemini Ultra.
While the specifics of each version's features are still unclear, some code insert suggestions that Gemini Ultra - the most premium package - could provide extended, even unlimited, access to some enhanced features.
Feature layering strategy and package-based limitations can help Google attract more diverse users and optimize revenue from AI services.
In particular, Gemini Ultra targets a group of professional users with high demand, willing to pay more to make the most of AI capabilities. Lower packages may be limited in number of visits, processing context length, or support features.
This move is seen as similar to the approach of ChatGPT - Gemini's biggest rival - which has broken into many subscriber levels such as Plus, Pro, Team and Enterprise.
Google has not yet made any official announcement about the new subscription packages. However, it is likely that the company will announce the information at the upcoming Google I/O conference (an annual conference for developers organized by Google).
