Google is deploying a series of AI conversation features on Gmail, Docs and Keep, allowing users to chat, ask questions and perform tasks with natural voice.
Features called Gmail Live, Docs Live and Keep Live were introduced by Google at the Google I/O conference in May.
With Gmail Live, instead of entering keywords into the search box, users can ask AI assistant Gemini about the content in the mailbox. During the chat, the exchange content is also displayed directly as text.
Docs Live allows users to describe in writing the content they want to write for AI to support creating the first draft. Gemini can also get information from Gmail, Drive, Chat and the Internet to build content.
Meanwhile, Keep Live turns the note-taking application into a voice-controlled "handbook". Users can read the content to be recorded without having to enter data, and require AI to compile a list. For example, Gemini can create a list of ingredients needed for a dish.
Gmail Live is currently for Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra users, while Docs Live and Keep Live support Google AI Pro and Ultra packages. Initially, the features operate in English on iOS and Android. Google said it will soon expand to business customers using Workspace.
