This is an extension of the technology that was introduced in NotebookLM - Google's research assistant and notes using artificial intelligence (AI).
This feature uses the latest Gemini model to create content summaries in audio form, giving users free access to information, especially useful when working out at a multi-purpose or simply wanting to listen instead of reading.
According to Google, audio Overviews is now available through the Labs pilot program. When the system finds the request suitable, users will see the option to create a short audio version with a simple trinhble interface including a playback/stop button, volume adjustment and playback speed.
The content is accompanied by source links, allowing listeners to access quickly if they want to learn more in depth. Users can also evaluate the experience with a " like" or " dislike" button.
Previously, in NotebookLM, audio Overviews allowed the creation of podcasts with virtual tour guides based on user-provided documents such as textbooks or legal documents. Google also added this feature to the Gemini platform in March.
audio overview is the next step in the development of AI Overviews - the previously integrated AI search content summarization feature.
