National Cyber Security Association launches Southern Branch

HCMC - On the afternoon of December 8, the National Cyber Security Association (NCA) held a launching ceremony for the Southern Branch and the Executive Committee of the Branch for the first term (2026 - 2030).

The event was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Lieutenant General Nguyen Minh Chinh, former Director of Department A05, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Cyber Security Association... along with leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City Police, departments, associations, businesses, experts and many organizations in the field of technology - cyber security.

The Southern Association is a affiliated unit and an extension of the National Cyber Security Association, with Major General Le Minh Manh - Former Deputy Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention - Ministry of Public Security (A05), holding the position of Head of the Association.

According to NCA, the Southern Branch with a streamlined apparatus and an autonomous operating mechanism is given the initiative in implementing tasks, coordinating operations and organizing activities in the area. The Association will be an important focal point in connecting experts - businesses - State management agencies, gradually building a strong security ecosystem, contributing to protecting digital sovereignty and creating a safe digital environment for the community.

In particular, organize specialized training programs, professional training, technical consulting, incident response support and deploy cybersecurity technology solutions. Build a network of cooperation with domestic and foreign organizations and enterprises to share experiences, update new technologies, and increase defense capabilities.

The Association will also closely cooperate with Department A05, Ho Chi Minh City Police and local Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (PA05) in professional exchanges, propaganda and cybercrime prevention; organize propaganda programs, seminars, and training courses for businesses and people to minimize risks in cyberspace.

With rapid digital transformation and a large number of online transactions, the Southern region is facing many risks of cyber attacks, financial fraud and high-tech fraud. The NCA's establishment of the Southern Branch helps increase the presence of professional forces, support businesses and organizations directly, promptly and effectively.

On May 8, 2023, the National Cyber Security Association (NCA) was officially established under Decision No. 340/QD-BNV of the Ministry of Home Affairs. This is the first social - professional organization in Vietnam in the field of cybersecurity, marking an important turning point in efforts to build, protect sovereignty and ensure national cyberspace safety.

The Association was formed on the voluntary basis of organizations and individuals operating in the field of cybersecurity with the goal of gathering, uniting members, protecting legitimate rights and interests, and at the same time supporting, sharing experiences, improving professional capacity and cooperating in preventing cybercrime, cyber attacks and protecting important digital infrastructure of the country.
